ditto here. I ordered one from Rick at Ralph Hayes in Greenvile, SC (got 25% off). They asked for the VIN # to make sure they got the right color. Took me about 45 minutes to install. In the 100 tech forum there are directions on removing the door panel. Good Luck!
I think the ground is supposed to go on one of the posts that hold the sending unit to the tank so that the ground makes contact with top of the sending unit.
what does it do when its not on auto? does it just put out heat? that is what mine did. I replaced my control unit with a used one. took about 2 hours. If you need to replace the controls, there are lots of them listed on car-part.com. I got one for $75.
How 'bout a little more info. What year, toy or lexus, etc. Does it have manual control knobs or the electronic stuff. Does it work properly when not in auto? I had a similar problem that I fixed by replacing the control unit behind the knobs.
