They are comfy. Already did a 2200 mile treck in them and not a single point of discomfort. They are a little old, so the plastic where the five point shoulder harnesses would come through the seat back are cracking out.
Sorry, thats the only pic I have of them right now.
I know that the "Scuba Mod" is a common term used in the FJ Cruiser community to refer to the breather extentions of the diffs, transfer and transmission breathers. It was coin'ed as such because one of the first in the FJCruiserForums.com to post the write up had the handle of "ScubaSteve"...
Sorry, need to update my sig. It is a 1993.
Thanks Onur. That answers the first question. a PO must have used the wrong gasket the last time the pump was removed. Got the new one on and torqued to 15 ft/lbs. I feel better already.
Started to replace the water pump. Scraped off the old paper gasket, took some emery cloth to the block to clean it up, then when I opened up the new pump, there was a gasket, except it felt metal with a pressed ridge all the way around the middle of the gasket. I thought it was strange...
Yeah, I was reading LandTanks thread on the rebuild/recalibration of the fan clutch. I was more wondering about the pump, but I can only find one that talks about the feel of the bearing. Other then that, nada. I guess the waterpumps are almost bulletproof.
I am gonna order the gaskets and...
Well, kidglove, you had it right. It's the waterpump leaking. Appears to be coming from the bottom. I finally let it run for about hour at idle until it finally manifested itself. Before, I could only get it to leak after driving. This time, it did it at idle. When driving, it must have been...
1993 FZJ80, left side of instrument panel. A PO has removed it at some time.
Not the missing switch between the locker and the dimmer, but the circular opening that looks like an opening for a hand throttle. It's not a hand throttle. I have one of those (broken) that is on the other side.
Do you have HID's or HIR's? As I understand it, HIRs are advanced halogens whereas HID are a gas discharge. I love HID in everything but active snow as HIDs produce very little heat at the bulb. HIR, being a halogen bulb, still make heat. Why is this an issue? Without the bulb heat, the lenses...
I see what you are saying with the water pump, but when I get my head in there, there doesn't appear to be an discoloration from antifreeze around the gasket, it is located by the Tstat housing only. I am gonna start with a tstat and seal replacement, tighten up the hose clamps in the area and...
FJ Cruiser wheels fit. Thay come in OEM sizes of 16" and 17" in alloy and OEM steel in 17". They run 4.5" of backspacing.
16" wheels usually have more tire choices.
Steel
Good: They bend before they crack, can be "repaired" with heat and a BFH
Bad: Heavy (= more rotational inertia =...
