    Vacuum Leak?

Casparis, thats it. Near South Connelsville. It looks like they blew the tunnels to prevent access a few years back.

    Vacuum Leak?

Lol, the timing light I used yesterday was borrowed from the Mopar buddy. Henry lives north of Austin in Texas. He is super busy with work, as well as his kids sports activities. I spoke to him about a month ago, and he and his fam were all doing well. I am overdue a trip out there, I need to...

Thanks Ryan, that was my other thought. I checked to make sure I connected them. Will check further once I have the truck in my garage

    Vacuum Leak?

Yeah, it's Ross. Part of the problem is I was trying to get it running on a short timeline, as the house where it was stored was sold, and I needed to move it asap. I drained the s***ty 10 year old gas, and then threw acetone and some E85 in it to clear out all the varnish. Then drained and...

    Vacuum Leak?

Alright people smarter than me (aka everybody). Parked the FJ40 in 2005. In 2007, pulled the carb, drained oil, emptied radiator. Then nothing. Stupid. Fast forward to 2016. Trying to get her running again. Sludge everywhere. Cleaned everything. Pulled the head, had a valve job done...

    Unobtainium

Those are not hood spears. They are the window felts that go at the bottom of the sliding perspex window of the factory soft door. I believe the other parts are the felt that goes around the other three sides, and the whole door surround weather striping. Someone with access to fiche would be...

    Unobtainium

Just found the following in a box that has been sitting in my parents garage for the past 15 years (along with a pair of 70 series turn signals). Pretty sure these are weatherstripping needed for a set of factory soft doors. Minus the wing windows. Are these parts still available, or...

    Stuck Lifter on 2F

Crisis averted. Was able to rotate the motor till that cam lobe was down. Sprayed the shyte out of it with Kroil, and then lightly tapped it down with some soft wood and a hammer. It dropped. I then rotated it back up with motor. Repeated like 10 times till she was moving smoothly.

    Stuck Lifter on 2F

Thanks for the pics I guess I can throw the distributor in again with the side cover off, rotate the motor so that the cam lobe for the stuck lifter moves clear, and see if I can unstick it from the top with a little persuasion? Otherwise, The only thing I can think of is having to pull the...

If I pull the pan, can I access the lifters from below? Or will the crank shaft and block etc not allw access?

    Stuck Lifter on 2F

Any idea on how to loosen a stuck lifter? Motor has been sitting 10 years, and one lifter seems to be stuck. Pulled the side cover, cleaned up most of the sludgy 10 year old oil, and sprayed kroil all around it. I gently put a pair of pliers on it to try budge, nada. Do I have to go through...

Pretty quiet in here... what are you working on?

When I first pulled my doors, I bought a second set of pins and lightly ground them to get rid of the serrations at the top of the pin. I initially used those pins to be able to quickly pull the hard doors on and off. They work well enough that I never have used the originals again. Put a rag...

Pretty quiet in here... what are you working on?

3 Months later. Almost ready to set the valves lash and then fire it up. I have a gallon of acetone in the gas tank trying to clean out the varnish from 10 year old gas. Will try 5 gallons e85 next if that doesn't work. I also have to find or buy a new rad drain stopcock. Can't find the...
