The fan switch itself has resistors in it, and they burn out too. My 80 has the third speed (out of four) burned, and that fan speed is inoperative. All the others blow just fine, but I haven't gotten around replacing the switch yet. Replace the switch with a known good one and retest.
I'm with Dynosoar, mine is as quiet as OEM unless it's low on fluid. A hydraulic pump is a hydraulic pump, they both take low pressure fluid outta the reservoir and both put it out at the hi-pressure port. Saginaw is a comparable pump to the Toyota, but IMHO cheaper to replace, even with the...
Towing capacity is related to at least two factors, one the weight of the towing vehicle (trailer can be up to 1/2 of the tow vehicle weight, if tongue weight is factored in) and two, tongue weight that should match your trailer hitch capacity. The cruiser can get a trailer moving in the flat...
dude, just torch the crap out. Rubber gets gooey when hot enough and then you just crank the come-along attached to the shackle and wham-o, problem solved.
ya know, just about any kind of cage woulda been helpful on that one. But it didn't help she didn't have a belt on, though from the read it was unclear. Both were ejected, a sure no-belter IMO
I spotted this in the LA Times, and it reminded me of the times when I've seen or experienced sway. For the record, I pull a 20' Airstream with the 80, and it's a bit heavy.

my LRA tank is supposedly good for 150 liters, at an unknown temperature. It works out to about 40 gallons. The aux tank might be a chore to get ahold of, like Mike observed, being that if MAF were to get it it'd sell for maybe more than the main tank (see the price gap between the 80 series...
that would kinda depend on the severity of the expected roll. If we're talking about a freeway speed rollover, welding feet to the frame is a matter of course. If you're expecting a mild roll in the dirt at crawling speeds, maybe less rigidity is allowable, dunno. In the first case, the truck...
what nikos8 said, a crack in the head (pre or post machine work) would get the water boiling in a jiffy. I know that no amount of radiator, coolant mixture or thermostat can compensate for the amount of heat and pressure a crack can let into the antifreeze. Remember this truck can go up a...
your idle cutoff solenoid, losing 12v (intermittent or continuous) would shut fuel to the idle circuit, below 1000 rpm causing stalling. it's easy to test, easy to replace. If you're up to it, test your accelerator pump, secondary butterfly and diaphragm. All those need to be operative for full...
