I think the Oaks in the Central Valley have a wide range of BTU output.
The Valley Oak is also called a Swamp Oak. It grows where there is an abundance of water.
When green, it cuts like white oak. There is so much moisture in the wood that you generally have to let it dry two years after it...
A limb split off a Live Oak.
I was able to brush it out for a habitat pile and process the tree for firewood.
It was over a 7’ drop off into a creek so I had to pull the log so it didn’t fall in the creek.
I cannot believe the heat that Live Oak puts out.
I really like my MS 400.
Light enough to process the entire tree and powerful enough to easily rip the blocks down to “fit in the stove” size.
The sawdust “noodles” go in the neighbors chicken coop.
Some of the linkage was not moving the way it should. The steering lever should snap back under spring tension. Removed everything and cleaned/polished it and reassembled.
Works like it should
It appears that the previous owner installed a crappy aftermarket pressure plate and never set the tension measurement correctly.
The “J” shaped bracket is not correct on the pressure plate. It doesn’t come near the throw out bearing.
