On eBay with $500 reserve. New alternator(Toyota), battery(old alternator did the battery in), home made sliders(2x4 stock), small Swamper TSL's, 1 new Longfield. Frame is probably 85% with surface rust, no rust through, although the bumper supports might be getting weak. Body is spent, but...
1988 FJ62 for sale cheap in Masachusetts
1988 FJ62, dark gray exterior, gray interior, mild lift, Koni's, new Toyota alternator, recent brakes. 235,000 miles. Runs strong, always starts, body needs work. Frame OK. Current Massachusetts inspection sticker. Daily driver until recently. Rear...
May be able to help if you are on the east coast/new England area. Know a guy with a few 60-series I believe he is parting out. Email me at louaxtjr @ hotmail.com (remove the spaces before and after @).
Been running 33's on mine with no problem. The AT/torque converter make up for what you don't have in gearing. I don't get into overdrive as often, of course, and the added weight and rolling resistance(especially if you are going wide) will hurt your fuel mileage.
I don't have the experience to second-guess a dealership tech, BUT I wouldn't over look the obvious either. Check for proper voltage at the fuel pump while cranking. Low voltage due to a wiring fault can cause poor fuel delivery even though pressure seems fine with the injectors closed (often...
I've got 4 Thule bars and the short Thule feet off my FJ62. One of the bars may be slightly bent, but otherwise everything is in fair condition. I'd be willing to part with 'em for $100 plus shipping. Email me if you are interested. I'd be happy to send pics. louaxtjr@hotmail.com
Recently replaced the alt in my FJ62 with a Toyota unit from CCOT. The windings were pretty burnt on the original. Decided to avoid the hi-amp route due to low output at low rpm's and limited availability. GM retrofit not an easy option on 62's - you may have more room in an earlier cruiser...

LandPimp, note the "last edited" on original post after my post. I can read, but only what is there in print. No indication in orginal post. Had to post in my defense.
Oil Cooler for 3FE
Thanks, but SOR has used for $75 plus shipping..was hoping to find one a bit less expensive.
BTW- 2F 1/76-on should fit, according to SOR's listing.
Oil Cooler for 3FE
Looking for a stock oil cooler for a 3FE engine. Bolts to oil filter housing with 2 banjo bolts and has inlet and outlet for coolant hoses. Anyone got one they don't need that isn't rusted out?

4x4connection says for $379.00 you can have a 140-amp Mean Green, but said the offering was limited. MG hasn't decided whether to offer it as a regular item, and that is why there is no listing on the web site. Evidently they have been unable to get their typical 200-amps out of a stock -...
I contacted MG Industries (manufacturer of Mean Green products) and was referred to 4x4connection. Will let you know when I receive a reply. Glad I didn't rush out and order a Toyota unit if I can get double the output for a few bucks more. I'll let you know when/if I get my hands on a...
The stock pulley size is quite small for the belt. I doubt if you could reduce pulley size further on the alternator, though I like the idea of some free extra amps (almost as good as ponies).
Sorry to jump in the question, John.
As for the CCOT unit, yeah, the pricing is oddly remiscent of a...
CCOT advertises a *NEW* Toyota unit on sale. Probably will order one if nothing comes up this weekend. The truck is apart for now with other work anyway. Won't be wheeling it again until the following weekend.
Was considering a new (not reman) Toyota alternator if no new ideas came up here. I have a GM alternator (120-amp, I believe) but the Toyota dual pulley won't fit(and there isn't enough material to enlarge the mounting hole), and the bracketry with the air pump makes a custom mount difficult...
