You'll need some good height in the engine bay (SOA/good SUA lift) and probably some AAL or heavier spings in the front to keep the front end from sagging. Otherwise sound like a good swap. I have a free pre-Powerstroke 7.3 sitting at home waiting for a swap.
We have used schd. 40 PVC for about 10 years on our compressed air system at our farm. One section of pipe did break during the winter (i.e. cold and brittle PVC). Luckily we ran the line around the top of our shed and ran drop lines down the air outlets and a section to drain it. The drain...
We use propane all of the time on the farm. Much cheaper and you can cut the thick stuff (1" and more), it just takes a little patience. Also it doesn't have the soot (sp??) when you fire it up. I've also found I get a little bit more slag stuck on the metal when I use propane, but that is...
Mine is still registered as an antique even with spring over and hydro-steering. It will soon be registered differenty. I know my insurance was very cheap with the antique registry. I just had liability. If I remember right it is like $10 every six months. Took the insurance off because it...

I've had two battery operated ones. The first one got ran over. They work great for one handed operation. From my experiance they use the same amount of grease as a regular gun. Just make sure you always keep the extra battery charged up though.
I know you said no space heaters, but I'm partial a the "jet engine" space heaters. I don't know what they are really called, but the ones that run on kerosene or diesel fuel. Even a small one can heat up a large area quickly.
Had one for about 3 years and it is the best. The best part is putting split tips on the bits. Wow do they go through the metal. Make sure you read at least some of the directions first though or maybe I'm just stupid. When I first got mine, I started to sharpen a bit backwards. It took...
