    Unburnt Fuel Smell

A burnt out exhaust valve on #2 cylider caused me the same problem...unburnt fuel smell, blackened exhaust. I had no idea until I performed a compression test and found 0 compression.

Attaching to Engineered Joists - Framers?

The webbing supplies all the strenght for the joist. The 2x2s on the top and bottom just provide a surface for attaching floorboards or cielings to. You will pretty much have to cut out holes in the webbing to run utilities through, just don't cut out the whole piece of webbing. The builder...

    Do all stud finders suck?

x2 on test holes I also prefer to tap the wall with a knuckle and listen for the change in sound...if it sounds hollow, it probably is. Also, most studs are spaced 16" on center (24" if your house was built by a cheap SOB, like mine was). So, if you find one, you should easily be able to...

    Bed liner Removal

The PO of my '78 covered the entire floor with Herculiner. Get yourself a , grab an old wood chisel with a sharp edge, and start scraping. The stuff on mine peels right off with the chisel.

    Ham Call Sign Master List

May as well throw me down on that list, too... AB7QV Haven't been on the air in quite a while...homeowners association doesn't like the antenna concept, and my '78 just isn't quite ready to take a 2m rig yet.

Headlight fuse blows after 10 minutes

Are you driving when the fuse blows? Or just sitting there idling? You may have an intermittent short somewhere in your headlamp circuit (thats why the fuse is there...headlamps are more expensive to replace than fuses). I had this happen to me with one of my old rigs. PITA to locate.

    sand blaster

You name it, it needs blasting. I've killed about half a dozen wire wheels already.

I'm looking at getting an inexpensive and relatively easy to use sandblaster. Anyone have any recommendations?

The little known "Bottom Rear Window"

What is this piece called?..and where can I get a replacement? Or do I just need to buy some sheet metal and start bending? It doesn't appear to be a part of the actual wheel well, or the mid bed. It does, however, have a HUGE hole rusted in it. Any input would be much appreciated. Thanks...

    Valve job

Hey all, I'm back from a long underway... Anyway, time to tackle the burnt exhaust valve issue. Anyone in the Hampton Roads area know anyone that can do a good valve job?

    Engine compression

I'm gonna start with a valve adjustment/verification before I dive into ripping the engine apart.

    Frame preservation

Well, I'll be taking the body off, repairing/replacing rusted spots, stripping and preserving the frame (inside and out), and giving the motor/tranny/tcase a once over... ...in all my vast amounts of time between underways, of course.
