.....................................peace brother peace.................
NOW BACK TO THE REGULAR SCHEDULED PROGRAM
the trail ride, Bruels ford to Cashiers, I say camp on a friday night in that big open field area then an all day assualt towards cashiers on Saturday.............. It really would be a kick ass ride in the fall nice easy cruising winding thru the mountains with the leaves changing and a cool breeze in the face, man I am ready for the fall and football.........summer in Augusta stinks.......
I think you are right rudi with the appeal of the north georgia mountains in the fall we might be able to draw a crowd with the promise of a easy slow paced ride and a large wide open place to camp and especially if we can convince marshall to BBQ............... hell even if no else comes I will be there.............
Later fellas and no more politics.....................

I'm up for
just about anything. Rudi's idea is a good one. A club mixer is always fun.
If I don't chime in with a suggestion it is because I don't wish to appear
as a dictator. That's why try to let members hash it out and then support
THEIR decision.
Just don't compare UC to others clubs unfavorably or diss a member and you'll
be on my sunny side. I'm easy.
I LOVE THIS CLUB for all the friendship it has generated.
As to the Fall fun. Sept would be ideal for me. Oct is the Pumpkin
Festival AND my beach trip. That's just me however.
Sept is also the opening of MG and HP. The 15th I believe.
A MG run can get pretty narly without the mild or scratch
wary in tow.
HP is a run for ALL to do without fear. Pic Nic at Jump Off Rock.
Several parks are near for the camping. Cherry Hill might be open if the
bears have moved on. (closed for them last year)
Table Rock and Jocassee too. Excellent facilities.
All have showers etc to make it doable for all.
MG for the hardy crowd and HP for the scenic ride and pic nic.
Both could be done in a weekend. Even BF, ME , HP and MG
would be options from a central camp site. People could
choose their "poison" so to speak. Make it a smorgasboard (sp).
Burrel's Ford is fun as well. It's a little rough in spots for the
"avoid dings and scratch" crowd. Cherry Hill is near and if open
would give us facilities.
HH is closed.
ME can't support large crowd and I don't think the owner would be pleased.
I know the dude and I seriously doubt we'd get his blessing.
Again, I'll "go with the flow" and support what the Club decides.
I'm up for whatever!

I never called you the godfather. If your anyone from the movie its Luca Brotsy the big dumb muscle who gets throw in the river.
As for the run I like the idea of camping in the big field right at the base of the trail. I think we will have to say Oct 8th (our open week) to avoid all clemson games. The oct 1 and oct 15 are also options both away games. MG and Hp will need careful planning this year we have a big time home schedule which can't be missed.

OK, I'm following the thread with interest but where the heck is bruel's ford? Are you guys talking about Burrell's ford or is this a different place all-together?

I said 1 because he said 100 series. If he had said 40 series then I of course would have went higher. And if he had said 4 inch lift on 35's with a winch like you then that would be different.
And Chuck its a consensus that you are not the godfather no one has said it but you. Hell without JP would your 40 even be able to break 30?

No scratch and dent trails
HP is certainly a no scratch ride.
MG is a muddy trail but a "no denter" for the most part.
If you go deep into MG scratches and dents become
more and more possible.
In summary ; 1 will not even get your truck dirty.
2 will get your truck dirty
3 real muddy dirty
4 dirt and dents
5 carnage expected
I WILL be going into the MG or HP around Sept 17th or 18th.
I do so EVERY year.
If the no scratchers want to come I'll do HP and picnic
at Jump Off Rock. Beautiful ride. Great lunch spot.
If the 40s and the rough riders want to come we'll do MG
and not stop short like last year.
My policy is always to wheel up to the weakest link.
I try not to put someone out of their "comfort zone".
Last year we had some wagons and newbies along for
the MG run so we just got everyone real muddy and
we all had a blast. I love those newbie grins.
I'm good for either depending on responses.
As the time approaches I'll be more specfic.
Until then....I'm game for about anything.

Thanks for the clarification.
A 1 for a 100? Come on now I've done burrell's ford (and the easier stuff at tellico) in an 87 4runner back when I was in school and my 100 can do better than my old 4runner (where it fits).
At least give me a 2 out of pitty!

It wasnt a 1 because the vehicle cant do it. It was a one because you didnt want to scratch the paint. That 100 cant go a lot of places if your not afraid to beat it. I know I wouldnt beat it around though at least not until the warranty ran out.

Jesus!
I'm outta the loop for a week, and I feel so lost. RU, your idea is not crazy but rather productive( my .2) and I'm willing to back you or anyone elses ideas about putting a multi-club event together( or any event for that matter). I agree with Marshall in post # 27, being new to the club, I don't feel I have a say in things yet, and hell I haven't even payed the 10 bucks( I got the same response, "don't worry about it, pay it later").
Now as far as having a wagon, I'm willing to wheel the crap out of it. I feel that by the end of the summer, it will be a very capable vech and ready to run with everyones 40's. Hell maybe I'll even have a 40, and just use and abuse it while I set side the wagon for DD stuff. So don't count my wagon out on anykind of fun!
Well anyway, I'm down in Charleston currently. The beast( still no name for her) got me down here, but the check engine light came on. So I'll go figure out whats wrong and do some wrenching. For the guys that went to GSMTR, I hope you had a blast. Post up pictures ASAP, and give us some carnage stories. I should be back to the upstate in the next week, that post GSMTR wrenching party sounds like a good time. See you all later.
Matt
