***********Cruizing the Parkway Sat Oct 10th ***********

This is one of UC's signature events we hold each year. Held right in the middle of October to enjoy the peak fall colors. This event is for all cruiserheads and all vehicles. No scratches on this event, all paved roads. Great family trip.

We have a starting point.

Meet at Pisgah Inn for Lunch at 11:30

Travel from there to Mt Mitchell Via Blue Ridge Parkway. Hang out.

We meet on the Blue Ridge Parkway at Pisgah Inn for lunch around 11:30. Usually takes a bit to get everyone a table. But the food and view of Pisgah National Forrest are worth it. Once done we will travel up the Blue Ridge Parkway to Mt Mitchell State Park and take in the views from being at the tallest point east of the Mississippi. We usually hang out for a couple hrs exploring the area and then head out. Camping, Hiking and just enjoying the views are what most people do after.

The parkway is back open to Mt Mitchell, that is always a good one. Plus I think the observation tower is open on top of mitchell

The mount mitchell route seems like a good choice.

Will this be a day run or are we planning on camping? Where is the rendezvous point going to be at?

Day trip. If someone wants to head up Camping before and after I don't see a problem.

Rendezvous is at Pisgah Inn at 11:30 on Sat. From there we will have lunch and drive up to Mt Mitchell. Cont on us getting up there around 3:00 from there the possibilities are endless. Becca and I have always just driven into Asheville and stayed at Biltmore Village Sat night. That's our Aniv weekend.

Me and the went camping one of the UC trips up there at the Pisgah campground right across from the Inn, had breakfast, hiked some and then met up with the UC folks and rode to mitchell, had a good time at the campground.....

we will probably come up Fri and camp or stay at the Inn (or not, the Inn is booked) and camp somewhere Saturday too. Maybe go up to Crabtree or Linville Falls area.

Crabtree is great, or there is a nice spot at the base of hawksbill mountain on the east side of linville gorge. We will probably camp at Crabtree.

Lets go...rain or shine, sometimes it'll be raining in the valleys, and nice up top and it makes for a nice view....like a sea of clouds with little mountain top islands.....

Rain or shine. That or sit at home and do nothing. Would much rather be somewherehanging out with friends.

Now we could push it to Sunday weather is supposed to be really nice on Sun.

Thoughts?
