It's Alive!
Hot Dang! After many moons the FJ60, a.k.a. Big, is back in service.
It's a long story...involving allowing others to set their wrenches upon the beast...
and several fitful starts and stops.
Well, now it sports an Elderbrock 6-3-2-1 ceramic header and 38 DGAS Weber.
Next up a new exhaust system from the header back with no cat.
Runs like a scalded dog now. If ya want it done right...do it yourself.
Here's the old rust bucket we love so much.

Sorry...I will not need the card now. I had an old 38DGAS just lying around the garage
and it had all the adapters etc with it so I just stuck it on there. I can now use the old
manual choke for a hand throttle.
It's not as nice a set up as an original carb but it works fine and it was free.
If I need to buy the carb from you I'm fine with that. Just let me know.

That's good to hear! Your prices sure can't be beat and those carbs are the bomb for a 2F.
Had the new exhaust installed today. $105 for all new from header collector to muffler to
tailpipe. Ready in about hour. I charged the A/C too. It has a slooooow leak. A charge
usually last a couple of seasons. I've given up trying to find the leak. Dyes etc...you name it.
Heck a shop couldn't find it.
Now...on to the front hub conversion on the Sprite. Skunk Werks stuff.
I've already swapped out the 3.7 for a 4.22 diff.
Sure, it will not go much, if any, over 100mph but it sure is quicker in the mountains.
Great throttle response.

Yeah...it's a hot rod.
I really love how you can see Big's most excellent pipes from the outside. Big's a speedo cable
away from EVERYTHING working...but hey, the GPS is more accurate anyway.
When emissions control police arrive here in P'Town I don't know what will happen to
Big. De-smogged, de-catted, Weber and header will NEVER pass. I'm just trying to enjoy
it whilst I can.

Next up: new pads for the FZJ80.
Excuse the crappy phone pics.

Do we have reason to believe this will happen anytime soon?

No...other than how the administration of Government seems to be working these days.
Close the trails, cash for the clunkers and let's get jiggy wiff climate change.
More control, more regulations coming. I keep my eye on the fed standards and
the other eye on the state/regions test results.
The 40 should be OK even if not "in" or "cool".
Frogeye and the B are safe too.
The 60 may wind of causing me to buy carbon credits.

Obligatory "glamor shot"
