Ok so I have some roof issues that need immediate needs. Can anyone recommend a shop with an hour or so of asheville that can cut/treat/weld/ and paint? I need to get this fixed asap.

The place I used in Marshall to fix up the 62 was absolutely great! New metal, paint, gutter seams sealed, etc., and a great price too. "Original Look" (828) 649-3408, Jimmy Metscher is the owner. Tell him I sent you.
They also did the body work on my wife's 100 after she hit the bear. Factory parts, matching paint, everything fixed as new.
Strongly recommend!

I need to get down to see them. Do you think they would repair problem and possibly coat the roof with a same color bedliner?

What's the problem with the roof? Bedliner on a roof? Sounds like a question last week on car talk - - they said that would be a really bad idea as it would be difficult to take off later. (I spent hours trying to take it off the Cuban's floorboards in his 40.

I dont know- I have this crazy idea that with a roof rack it would be protected and rustproofed. If I think about it- I would never have known my current problem if it was so Ill just stick to the basics, I just really hate getting up there to clean it.

We all do, especially on lifted trucks. One option is to get one of those brushes with the long handles like we used to clean the ambulances with where I worked, that works well for me and reaching isn't a problem, or some of the spray and wash car wash solution if you are washing under a roof rack. Bedliner up on top would not be my first choice, but I have seen stranger things in my days.

There is a shop over off of 191 that did a repair on my fjc and they did a good job. Metal work and paint. Cant remember the name but will find it later. What is wrong with your roof?

I had a rust bubble that perfed the rear driver side roof, about the size of a nail head. I think my leaking windshield gasket let enough moisture in to cause a little corrosion. I want to get it cut out and rewelded and painted. I have a new oem gasket that needs to go in as well. Its what I get for going with an aftermarket gasket......

I just called Jimmy Metscher at "Original look" in Marshall, and while there was no answer (before 10 am on Monday), the number was not disconnected. I also called the fax number and it is working. Might be worth a second try:
Office 828 -649-3408
Fax 828 649-3772
