This is What I've Been Up To

In the last 6 months, I have been selling cruisers, buying and reselling a Lexus, and finally got what I've been wanting. Picked it up today at Toyota of Knoxville, 6 spd. (I know the brushguard is urban blingy, but it came with . . . .)

I'll be back at events. Took all my "cruiser energy" to sell the 98 100 and the 89 62, then it took all day today to trade a Lexus and pay some dough for the FJC. Dead tired. Discovered I really missed having a cruiser for a daily driver, so I solved that problem today . . .

dave,

you're one ahead of me. Took three federal judges for a ride in it to lunch the other day . . . like kids in a candy shop! Told them everyone has an addiction, and I was lucky that mine was trucks!

Got a great rate, 4.9 at my local federal credit union. Now was the time to buy as it appears that Toyota has ended production! My dealer had a few incentives/reductions and was thrilled to have any sale that day (the economy . . . .) So, if you want an FJ new off the lot, now is the time as the pickins are getting slim . . . . I actually heard applause when I left the showroom in Knoxville.

-David

Blaspheme!!!! What is it with all of you 60 series selling out for new hardware? what owning a 20 plus year old truck that requires constant maintainence and upkeep does not appeal to you anymore?

Wait...what? Looks like a beauty David, If I could get half of what I have in mine I may consider something similar, I just like not having a car payment.

Steve's . . . All of mine are rockphobic, but do enjoy occasional outings on forest service roads, beaches, and snow.

When are you heading back into this neck of the woods david? we still need to check out some FS roads. We can compare old school and new school technology.

Dave looks good parked next to the 40. Im using that photo to shw the wife that i need a 40 also..... If you are going to stay with the stock size tires, I may have a tire cover for you pretty soon. I have my lift and soon as i finish up with the 62 i will be lifting the FJC and getting a more aggressive tire.

Dave

Two weeks into being an FJC owner and I am loving it. It truly feels like driving my old FJ40 . . . lots of gear shifting, slightly rugged ride, and magnificently underpowered! Absolutely a Land Cruiser experience.
