Very cool.

Bill I have your wire. Had a visit by Cat and Rick today. Even did a little wrenching on a jeep.

PM me or email me at lowcountrylandcruisers at gmail dot com and I will send a couple to you. you have to use them separate as they are $40 certificates so if you need more than just the basic shaft you will order them as individual orders....to use the coupons for the full deal.

I will send the coupons out today or tomorrow if I get the address for you soon enough.

repost from LCLC:

Well our first trip to URE was a blast. Lots of great trails, good people and good food. Saturday was a spectacular day of wheeling and even with our great numbers, we still moved along better than I thought we would. Cat had a ton of fun wheeling the beast that is Bertha. We enjoyed watching the people on the rocks at Kodak too. Thanks to Brock for organizing this trip.

Unfortunately, Bertha had some major carb issues on our last day. Fuel was dumping into the carb unexpectedly and causing unwanted revs and surges. Kind of hard to finesse your way over a ledge with that going on so we started to leave her at the bottom and Cat would just ride with me. Then Stan sheared his output shaft off the t-case on the second ledge and we decided to escort him back out. The carb seemed to behave itself on the ride home, but we had to drop off some cable at Marshall's house, so he took a look at too. After checking all the linkages and choke settings he concluded that something internal was the issue. So we'll have it looked at this week.

Video of Cat going up Dutch John, I think.

we were very glad to have you both there....and the turnout was even better than we had hoped for our little adhoc gathering of Lowcountry Land Cruisers. We had originally hoped to get 5-6 rigs up there for the weekend....never expected to be 15 rigs and over 27 people I think if I am remembering right.

FYI, took Bertha to ACC and they I'd the carb issue as the loose choke adjuster, that Troll pointed out. So we took it apart and wound up throwing another O ring on it to lock it down. Also found a loose motor mount that could have contributed to holding the kickdown in a locked position at the wrong time. Should have it all sorted out by this weekend if we can get the mount without too much effort.

Very cool. I actually might have been right.

Now get some A/C!

That is AMAZING! You caught the moment on film!

We took almost no photos while on Daniel, because we were so frazzled trying to get our rigs up the trail. Thanks for all your help Jerry! We saw Stan and Heather off the trails just fine and they even caught up with us on Highway 49 before Charlotte after we stopped for a bite to eat and to top off the tanks. He said he was getting a clicking from the rear diff (now unloaded of course). I guess he'll be looking into regearing too!

Not a problem and sorry we couldn't massage Bertha up the trail any better. We didn't take any pictures the rest of the way up either, everyone was kind of quite after the failure. And, thanks for hanging with Stan, getting him down the hill. He said it was surprising how bad a front wheel drive FJC handles the mud and a slight hill.

I talked with him and he thinks the rear clicking might have been due to the fact it was spinning w/o a load. Of course, he won't know the true extent until the output shaft is repaired, yes, he may be looking at a R&P also.

He posted the discussion he had in the "blue room" with the Toyota dealer tech, service manager then regional rep regarding his situation. All came to the same conclusion..."That's just weird".

It is having to go up the chain of command to the National rep for clearing of a warranty claim. All he talked with claimed it was the first they had heard of, just hope they take care of him...
