I'd like to get my locker cables installed (finally...) but need to find a shop to borrow. We have a dirt driveway and an uninsulated garage full of furniture.
Maybe a turbo too if $$$ permit. But I've been saying that for the past 2 years...
visual stimulation: new winter skinnies, picked them up for $250 on CL!

Probably have to put my 2F that's in the 40 into my brothers 60. I think he seized it do to lack of oil. I won't know until I check it out tonight. Atleast it will make a nice hole in my engine bay for that TPI 305 I have been working on.

Very good. Glad to see the sickness didn't go away.
As for me. lol. Way to many.
Build the front axle in the 40. Paint the 40 and start stripping the pig down for paint.

Yes, it was the scene of a HAMOM, where all my beer suddenly disappeared.
Shooting commercials for Sears? Good idea, sounds like a good write off. Actually, having a tool cabinet has increased my productivity in the garage as I can now find sockets! (Will be putting rear brake pads on the 100 monday.) It also doubles as my "office" as I have a little heater under the table and its the only place in the house the family lets me have.

Surely I'm not the only one that looks at this "organization" in David's garage and gets a feeling that I would like to just mess it up a little!

Hard 40. If by mess it up a little you mean "come help me rebuild the seals and bearings on my front axle," then please come soon! It's toasty warm in my "office" right now, the JD is flowing, and there are power tools and a 62 within arm's reach.
Trollhole. First, get a large dumpster. Second, go to Sears with your wife's credit card and spend like there is no tomorrow. Third, sit in your garage and pay the bills the project has generated. This final step is crucial in that it lends credibility to the whole operation when viewed by loved ones.

i'm going to try to put some serious belly pan/skid on the 80. I'm looking to seriously extend on the iron pig skid all the way out to the sliders.

Alas poor Horatio, (Dave) I knew him well. He is missing so much with his juris prudence neatness:
Discovering that you have 4 10mm sockets for each drive.
The exaltation of finding the wheel puller that been lost for months.
Stepping on the weatherstripping that you forgot about buying for you cruiser.
Finding that $20 in the left pocket of the old coat you used to lay on while working under the cruiser.
Uncovering that order of Landcruiser Parts you wern't sure you ordered.
These are but a few of the blessings showered upon the disorganization of Cruiserdom by the Cruiser Gods. Blessings that can only be received if the proper attitude is found in the faithful. Brother Troll can testify to the truth contained here and perhaps offer a word of encouragement to the "pleader" from those of us who comprise The Great Unwashed.
If you ever debated wheather to buy diapers or Front Disc Brakes.
If your wheels off your home will fit a 5.5 x 15 cruiser tire.
If the tax credit will cover the credit card bill that includes those headersyou needed.
If your order from Spector really needed to ship next day air.
If you have ever considered trading in the wife's can for a second cruiser.
These things go hand in foot (JP) with our religion and every bit as much as we have sacrificed in working without the bother of being neat we are rewarded with those blessings aformentioned by The Gods. So here we are and will remain and will stand as witnesses to the faithful that there is hope for those who having not yet seen the light but are willing to see that it is not an oncoming train but your brothers who are concerned but confident that Horatio will pull through thus securing the blessings for himself and his posterior, uh Posterity.
AMEN

Well said Capt. THE GREAT UNWASHED have made a point that cannot be disputed, only confirmed.
The Cruiser Gods will withhold all blessings from the neat cruiser persons.

Confirmed last night that my brothers 60 is indeed seized. Looks like we will be transplanting the 2F from my 40 starting this fri. Anyone got any pointers? I have not worked on a 60 before. I was thinking about removing the whole front end, or is just as easy to just remove the front grill and radiator. It will be desmogged so there will be a lot less stuff going back in.

removing the hood, grill, rad, and rad support will give you enough room to pull the whole powertrain. You may get away without removing the rad support if you are just pulling the engine.

might as well add dual batteries to my project list. Woke up this morning to some brisk weather and the optima didn't even have the amps to turn the starter. I have a second red top, I just gotta install it. I wonder if a yellow top would have made any difference?
