GSMTR 09 June 15th-21st
GSMTR Registration click here
Yes is it time to start planning for this event. Actually we started before the last one was done. So mark you calendars now. Go ahead and tell the boss you need these dates off.
Format will be similar to the way it has been in the past.
We have reserved Crawford's just for us. Crawford's Campground
We plan on making it the single biggest TLCA 4x4 event on the east coast. And with the help of 160 Upstate Cruisers members and the other local clubs on the east coast we should have no problem in pulling this off.
Registration information and event schedules to follow.
Goal: To help raise money for the "Save Tellico Fund" as well as provide a fun, safe event for all forms of Toyota 4x4 vehicle owners and their family. That's right, we have moved the event back a month to allow for school to be out and the weather to be a little better. We want this to be a vacation for you and to be as comfortable and economical as we possibly can make it.
We have a motto in Upstate Cruisers. Something for everyone.
Any questions or comments please write them below or PM me.

Sweet. Went ahead and registered. Just need the rest of the funds and time to repair the steering system and get the 4-link done. Many of the NFC folks are stoked to go....gonna be a good time and you guys are putting together one heck of an event. Looking forward to seeing the turnout of years past - AND - more importantly, looking forward to seeing some FJC nuts that go all out on some serious obstacles.
As to the video - like I said before, great shots of the people, places, and rigs that make it so much fun to come back year after year.

Yeah, somehow I don't see her going up school bus Not unless Cat is riding with her and helps her with the skinny pedal. did I say that out loud?

"Punch it Chewy!!!!!!" LOL
I plan on her driving 2, 4, 5 and 6. I want to take the Pig up something more "fun" but I'll have to go up the Guardrail Bypass since coming down will make the fat ass of my Piggie a little skinnier. School Bus might be a little out of my reach. I'm not too crazy about coming down Pinch Rock but I'd probably be OK. Upper 2 is a no go - my Piggie's ass would be REALLY skinny after I got to the top.
I wish Slickrock was open...

Juice, I can't remember, is the piggie locked? Just thinking/dreaming about what I can do in the 60, was also looking for something a little more "fun" than 4,5,6.

The Piggie is locked in the rear but is open in the front. I need an ARB air locker for the front but can't afford it. I could probably swing a lunch box for the front before GSMTR but I'm worried about auto lockers front and rear and being able to turn the long wheel base. I don't have longs but I do have 2L.

The hill climb up to Guard Rail is not really challenging, but something different and hilly. There is a tiny spot to turnaround if you don't have a fear of heights. And if you time it right you'll get to see Landshark do his thang.
Also the ride up to Upper 2's challenge is something off the beaten path, you can also take a right instead of a left on this approach trail and go to the big clearing at the top of the mountain.

I hereby impose the OEM Cruiser curse (that I lost on my 40) on your pig - if it's nice, don't lock it in front or do anything that will put it in harms way. Not enough nice ones left - and they're so damn pretty .

It basically looks the same now from the front - but I've added a dual swing-out on the rear and hopefully some rear quarter protection by GSMTR.

OK, so my 60 looks little compared to the pig, I've got some work to do if I want to keep up by GSMTR (very unlikely)...
Rick, thanks for the pointers, I figured I could make it TO Guardrail, and didn't know about upper 2 approach. Learn something new every day.

The approach to Guardrail is nothing now - heavy maintenance since OMT. I plan at least to drive up to Guardrail and let the watch the carnage for awhile - she requested that. The drive to the Upper 2 ledge is OK. I might drive up to it too. I just KNOW I'll lose my passenger rear on that damn rock...at both obstacles!
Hmmm.....ass end exo time?

Just weld some corners onto the ends of your rear bumper that extend about 10" forward. However, the sheer length of a piggie compared to a 40 makes upper 2 dang near impossible without heavy banging or a 43-pt turn on top of the first big rock.

Eventually wound up doing this...

I plan on having some rear quarter protection of 2x2x3/16 square from the bumper forward and 90 to the frame with a tube hoop sticking out as a 'kick-out' of sorts. I don't mind pulling a winch and I don't mind some body damage but I don't want to kill the Piggie either. I would .

Too funny. Of all the 60's I've seen go up Upper 2 - most hit the drivers door on the big rock (which is done now right?) - but nothing happended to the rear end. Hope it's good and messed up with a new line for this year .
That 55 is nice!

I guess you're right - its the door - but don't you mean the passenger door?
I was thinking about the rear end and the guardrail @ the Guardrail bypass - it took a few trophies last year @ OMT.
My 55 looks nice b/c its a small picture!

I intended to come but I can't make it this time. BMW is shut down the week after GSMTR and we're hooking that into a two weeks vacation, spending it at our place in Croatia.
Hate it. We'll also have to miss Bonnaroo this year, it's 11-14 June.
Rats.

"spending it at our place in Croatia"
Wow you dont hear that very often!! SOunds like an adventure.
Looking forward to this year. Carp i am with you on the curiosity of something other than 4,5,6 although i am really not desperate to get body damage all that much... we shall see which ride is ready by that time....the 40 or the 62 then i guess i will evaluate.

Oops - Duh! Yeah - you are correct - that's what I meant. Also meant to say it's "gone" now? Either way - always a fun little ride (well excepting that time I broke a pinion - doh!).

Sputnik, I'm going to make it up there (Ledge on upper 2) w/out pulling cable this year. I'll have more lift, 4.88's and the 37" Pit Bulls I won last year. You won't be the only one on the group that makes it. LOL
