As some of you know I just purchased Yooper's Pig and am in the process of doing a semi-restoration, mainly on the body. I'll post up names and numbers of places where I get a good deal on any work.

Exhaust
Traveler's Rest Tire and Muffler
864-834-4143
Ask for Brian Lindsey - he is the owner.
I had new exhaust pipe and Flowmaster series 40 muffler installed from just below the header flange back. Brian tucked the pipe really tight up against the body. He did a good job, gave me a ride home after I dropped off my rig, and was very easy to deal with. The whole job was $210 including tax. The Pig sounds nice. It is not too loud and is quieter than before with an exhaust leak. As I seal the body up better noise in the cab will get even quieter.

Another good find
Smith Metal Fab
5 Sidney St - behind Duke Sandwich Co on Poinsett Hwy/276 just north of City of Greenville
Michael Smith owner - 242-6911

Michael is a good guy and gave me a good deal on some sheet metal and preforated metal for my Piggie. He is also going to make a swing-out spare tire carrier to mount my spare 35x12.5, hi-lift and spare gas can. He has a corner back in his shop with sheet metal and plate that has already been cut anywhere from 1ftx1ft to about 3ftx5ft so you don't have to buy a huge sheet, you can pick smaller pieces which saved me a lot of $$$.

You can't believe how good my experience was at Travelers Rest Tire & Muffler!

Lately, my 80 had been sounding more like a NHRA funny car than a Cruiser. I took it to TR T&M yesterday and it was one of the best things I've ever done.

I called Brian yesterday and he said that he could take a look at it. He lifted it up and told me that I needed to have the catalytic converter, muffler, two hangers and about three feet of pipe replaced. He could do it for about $500 which was almost half of what I had been quoted before. Thinking he might be busy I asked if I could bring it back later that week, but he figured since he already had it in the air why not do it now. He worked on it the rest of the day and would have worked into the night if I hadn't called him and told him that I had no problem picking it up the next morning. It ended up only being $400, and now my Land Cruiser sounds more like a hybrid than a SUV! I almost felt like I was robbing him!

I highly recommend his shop. I'll even be letting him do all my brake work too.

Talked with Mike last night. Really nice guy. Has the ability to do anything. Small parts large stuff frame on or off. Can do soda or anything else. Has a mobile unit. So he can come to you. Had him rough quote doing the entire 55 inside and out while on the frame for 1200. Not bad. Said I could leave all the rubber and glass in it he will only get the paint. Said it could vary depending on how much bondo is there. Also said he could blast undercoating off.

Karl,
You might try dealing directly with this lady too. Debi is who Fourwinds put me in touch with when I had a glitchy power supply. She sent me a whole new fridge before I even sent the old one back, just so I could reuse the shipping box. I think they are the direct buyer for Dometic. Four Winds (Paul Marcuzzo) is the little fish retailer.

I also bought my winch (Warn 9.5xp) from Winch Depot. It was about $100 cheaper than anywhere else, they had free shipping and they threw in a hitch receiver shackle point.

If you need any turf/lawn equipment hit me up

Epps Lawn and Garden

we do repairs and sell equipment

Most of you guys would not be customers anyway so the owner is not afraid to discount his items a bit for sales that he would not be making otherwise. $5 dollars is better than no dollars profit!!!!

Discounts will vary on the markup of the item. We maybe make $50 on an $800 saw...can do much of a discount on hand held 2cycle items like chain saws or blowers/string trimmers

Mowers would be discounted more

we are dealers for Stihl, Husqvarna, Shindiawa, Briggs, Kohler, Kawasaki, Simplicity, Snapper. Can get parts for most any name brand equipment (mtd, murray, ayp, craftsman) and aftermarket parts for John Deer, Walker, Toro and so on

I will get you prices on Briggs, Kawasaki and Kohler engines that will not be much over cost + shipping.

Also have scrap/parts equipment for those of you that need it

I will also discount labor %15 for mud members

my cell phone number is 864-201-4847 or you can pm me

contact me for pricing/avalibility, i just have to run all discoutns by the owner for approval since they vary depending on the item. Feel free to price around town first and i will do whatever i can to match the price!

(note: some times i can't beat the price of stuff at big box stores like lowes/homedepot/walmart and sometimes i cant beat briggs engine prices at Northen Tool...they buy thousands of engiens compared to my maybe a few dozen a year)

Discounts on equipment will vary depnding on the item, we can discount dealer consignments and old inventory much more than we can sepcial order equipment.

I'm sure i can even work it out where if you need to special order a large piece of equipment (comes in a crate) if you put it together yourself it will be discounted even more. It takes a while to pull a mower out of a crate and put it together.

We are going to be building a new building soon so he wants our current mower inventory cut so he will sell alot of it at dealer pricing. We need space

Might have to give you a ring - I'm having a time getting two pieces of yard equipment running right...
