yeah you do...HAMOMS are for paid members.
now back on topic.....I showed up slightly after 8am...and we started going through parts on his Pig...after I spent time checking out paint job..the clean motor...the interior...etc. Started threading fuel vent lines in the body panels...figuring out grommets...and hanging the long hoses up high in rear pillars. Then we worked on puzzle of solid fuel lines and getting everything lined up for the fuel tank to be hung. By that time I was having to leave for another event at my daughters home in Hollywood.
Stopped back by and Sherman62 and TTARAHA were there (no sign of DBENKE though we talked to him this morning) and they were working on inspection cover gasket and some other things. All in all I think it went a bit slower than expected but at least some progress was made.
Stu has a nice looking Piggie there...hope he gets it running right in time for Lowcountry Boil. Good luck Stu.....

F*&% ya'll i'm outa here too! Ya'll know I drive a Camry so wave if you like. I've had enough of this and I want my $5 for the rest of the year back!
 ha,ha.
I don't even know where I live anymore and you guys keep messing with me about participation. I technically don't consider myself a member but do keep up my dues. I enjoyed the Shrimp boil and chatting with you guys when I can, either at one meeting a year or to swap parts. Carry on, nothing to see here.

Guys, thanks again for the effort you put in to be there Saturday. I'm sorry things didn't go quicker, but I definitely enjoied the company. I spent all afternoon Sunday and all day Monday working on it too. That gas tank about killed me. I'll try to update this thread with some current pics and get back to my build thread too. Would rather wrench than play online. Got to get her driving!
I'll order some more parts and give the club a heads up when the next Saturday I'm working on it rolls around. I have to work this weekend and the one after Labor Day. So...that doesn't leave me long before the Boil!
Hey, y'all be on the lookout for some front turn sig's for me. It seems Toyota doesn't make the replacements for either early or late 55's anymore.
Thanks for all,
Stu

Maybe you can buy a new set for a 40 and find a set of bases for the 55. I think that was the only difference, being the 55 mounted flat and the 40 was at an angle. I know they still sell new 40 signals.

Yeah was planning on that route but I can't get my bases off, so I didn't know if others had either. Anyone tried pulling their bases from the signal post? If you have the bases separated, I'll buy 'em!
Thanks Jeremy.

Well the Pig's just about ready to start. Welded the tank up last night. Interior's all in. Need to run a couple of wires and hoses and top off fluids. Should be trying to drive it around the neighborhood this weekend. Definitely still need a front turn signal solution if anyone's got one.????

I might swing by Saturday if I get time and see how it is looking. Why did you need to weld the tank?

I had a friend help me weld in a stud actually. So the tank is still removable. It turned out great. I picked up some new hoses this morning from Charleston Rubber & Gasket Co. What an awesome place. They made me 3 custom hoses for brake and fuel lines that I was fighting.
I plugged in the new battery last night and tried the headlights to see if they came on. Had nothing. The battery is definitely good. I'm not sure what I hooked up wrong. Maybe a bad fuse block? Power's definitely going to the alternator and starter. Haven't tried to actually turn the key yet.
