I saw Glenn pulling a Jeep out of his shop yesterday. Maybe he secretly works on that junk too.

The guy I talked to recommended two places...
B&R Automotive on Cross County. Said he does good work but was a pain in the ass lately but was unrelated to his quality of work...maybe it was personality or something else.
B & R Automotive & Off Road Service
7173 Cross County Rd A, North Charleston, SC 29418-3313
Contact Phone: (843) 225-4327
Then he mentioned STONO BODY SHOP over by Glen. Apparently the owner, David Stono, does a lot of work other than just body work and used to be the VP of Southern Mudders. If he cant he will know someone that can...
Stono Body Works
1743 Signal Point Rd
Charleston, SC 29412
Phone: (843) 795-8318

The shop Glenn sent me to to work on my dads Chevy had 2 CJ's parked at his shop. One of them was in the bay getting a full build on. He is very good, and only charges like $35 hr for labor. Maybe Glenn can chime in with his name as I can't remember at the moment.

Jeremy, unfortunately thats where mike's brothers cj is at, probably the one getting the rebuild on that you saw. John is good on domestic products, i just think he has taken on more work and clients than he can handle at the moment.
Hopefully Tommy and John can can continue to work together on this communication problem that thay seem to be having.

Well John has had his Jeep for 6+ weeks justto replace a engine and new steering shaft. 6+ weeks!!!! Whenever my brother calls him he basically fusses at my brother for calling. He told my brother almost 2 weeks ago that he wa going to start on it the next day and spend all of his time on it. Well still haven't heard a thing. He won't even call my brother and tell him what is up. So there is no communication problem you see. He won't communicate at all. My brother leaves for Australia soon and will probably call my brother while he is gone wanting his money and for Tommy to get it

Was he doing a direct swap or was he upgrading the motor? Sorry you guys are having trouble. He did a great job on our starter. Got us in right away and out the same morning. Sounds like he just doesn't want to work on it.
Have you talked to Lowcountry 4x4?

Even an upgrade, I could have an engine out and another in in 2 days. I wish I had time to do some of this. That was the original plan. I have worked on some cars and trucks in the past, but now I can barely keep up w repairing everybody's house and fixing my own.(house and vehicles)

He is swapping the engine. My brother just called him to find out what the deal is and his secretary told Tommy that they were putting the engine in. Tommy is told the same thing everytime he calls. Oh. I am sorry. That is wrong. Afterbeing told he had the engine in 2 weeks later Tommy was told that they put the wrong engine in. I would not re commend this guy to my worse enemy.

Yep, if my toy had been in the shop for 6 weeks I would have been there atleast 6 times checking on it weekly. But that's just me. I have a hard time turning my stuff over to people and opening my checkbook. I want to see for myself what is going on.

David you wouldn't happen to have a 3spd bell housing laying around would you? I need the clutch fork pivot balll that bolts to the bell housing. I posted in the classifieds but no results yet and it is a discontinued part from toyota.
