If the rest of the sheetmetal looks as good as the back he got a smokin deal.

underneath is the problem but overall I think it is in OK shape, has some good size dents. Probably needs about $10K or more worth of body work to make it cherry.

Its easy to sink that much in too.....- The PO of my 40 spent 6K on bodywork/paint...... And it had already been media blasted.......

The piggy arrived today, i had to drag it off of the trailer and into the shop with my 40, as the rear wheels were lockd up tight.
I've got the rear wheels turning, removed the plugs and filled cylinders with penetrating oil, cleaned the plugs, turned engine over by hand, then turned engine over with it's own power, Bdenke stopped by and lent a hand, removed points, cleaned and adjusted by sight for now, disconected electric fule pump from tank and pinched off the line, sprayed a little carb clean and she fired right up, engine is quiet and idles perfectly, not bad for sitting 8 plus years.
heres some pics

The sticker on the glove box indicates a very discriminating PO.

I wonder how much HEATHER has invested in her Piggie Restoration? I am sure Glen has already checked out her thread in pig section.

All I see is surface rust, you guys must see more in person than I a can see in the pics. That pig is sweet and he got a great deal. It is very rare to find a deal like that is not already torn apart and missing parts. He will appreciate it being all together from the start. Ask me how I know.

If you can't tell, I am too. Unless had plenty of cash set aside for a coplete overhaul I would: pressure wash it, wax it, get her safe, replace to front hangers and run it. Those things are a thing of beauty, restored, beat up, or rusted they look great to me. Just like the 40 series rigs. Maybe one day the 60's and 80's will grow on me but I can't see past the 40's/45's and 55's.
the another Pig in the LCLC. He is a member right? What happened to that guy in Summerville with a Pig?

He's not a member yet, but that will be one of the requirements for Lex-Tech bringing her back to life. LOL

For a unrestored pig it is in pretty good shape. A steal of a deal. Especially now you have the engine turning.

I saw it Jeremy, It does have some bad rusty spots, but it's complete. That is the best part.
I would just clean it up and get it safe also and drive it. However I do really like my 62.

Tristan is an official LC restoration apprentice as of today, He was able to remove the gas tank out of the pig today with ease and no help from me, Good job.
The owner of this lovely swine should be picking it up tomorrow to take her to the body shop where i hope she will treated with respect. I don't anticipate seeing her back here for another year or more.

I got some good pointers from Glenn and hes a good teacher.
The gas tank surprisingly wasn't in bad shape at least on the inside..Glenn there was a foul smell from the old gas but I couldn't smell anything. Apparently I am immune to bad smells after working in a paint store for so long..not all bad smells like ones coming from Ron's arse..no one is immune to those

Since we rip on each other so much on here we should just start a thread where all we do is rip on each other..everytime we start a thread it somehow always turns into somebody talking smack to somebody else..

and I am making the wife SELL her BMW so I can keep the FJ and the FJ60 LMAO.....shhhhhhhhhh Actually to be truthful it was her idea...she wants a new car next year and I dont want to get her another until the others are paid for....so selling her BMW now will pay off two cars completely. Then with the money that was going to both car notes we pay of FJ in 18 months...then she gets whatever she wants. Right now sounds like 335i or Vette :(
LMAO

Do what you have to do. I know a lot of people are shuffling their priorities to just pay the bills. I know I am.
