Factory 40 Roll Bar
Since we all seem to be in a touchy/feely/giving mood here on the forum, I'm looking for the roll bar for my 40 as it is not equipped with one, so that my will feel safer riding with me. The REAL reason is so that we can can take her TOP OFF and then hit OCD up for a new BIKINI, for a charge of course.

I thought I might have a lead on one - Greg lives 2 miles away and has one of the rigs I posted in the "40's in the hood" thread....He has a rollbar for you....Heres his response to my pm

I know that the roll bar has rust on it. As well as I can remember, I think that it is mainly surface though. I do have the oem tire carrier and it is out of the weather and it is in good condition. I will get with you Sunday evening or Monday if that is alright.

I'm still waiting on Greg to call me back and tell me to come get it......I should have probably gotten it before I said anything but when you think you know someone......blah, blah, blah,.....you know the deal......I'm still waiting to hear back from him......
If you have a lead on another one and are ready, by all means go for it......I'm sure right after you get another one this dude will call ready to give his up......LOL

Anyone want to bring it from the HAMOM? As you might know, the legs can fold inward so it can be carried flat.....Fits in the back of my 62 lovely.....Otherwise I'll bring it to Charleston when I come.....

IDK about it fitting inside....I'm going to have to do a little configuring for it to ride in my 40....It makes for a nice flat piece after the legs are folded...just bulky with the main hoop......
You bringing the Belmont stuff yes? Otherwise I'll have to bombard you with fruitcake in the mail.....One a day until the rapture......Can you imagine all the fruitcake you'll have by the time you get back from CO? I had to stop eating it.....It was like colon cleansing via roto rooter........LOL

Jim still storing the roll bar for me? whats the typical storage fee in the Florence area going for these days in this depressed economy?
I'd like to possible come up that way soon and visit, the wife and i need an excuse for a road trip.
Maybe i can also take a look at the 40 in the area that has the disc brakes on it if there still available.

Jim,
Glenn also wants the OEM pads for the rollbar. I forgot to give them to you. If you all come over let me know so either I can be around or leave the pads so that you can get them. I also would like to get Glens opinion on the best parts for doing the mini truck swap on my 40. Alreay got the mini axles and some new parts but really don't know what internal parts and seals that I will need to replace for the swap. I want to replace any wear items. I have read so many threads and so many different opinions I don't know which way to go. I just want the strongest and best that I can get. I want to do it "right" the first time. I am looking at high steer and CV Unlimited or Longfields. I need someone with alot more axle knowledge than I have so I can make a list of parts. Axles are not in my forte. I have never torn one down other than CV joints and replaced hubs on the Z71.
