Christmas Parade
As a recruiting / publicity tool, I would like to ride in some parades. Everyone I talk to about the club has no idea there is one in the area. I would like to see if there is any interest before I book though. I was thinking Mt. Pleasant and Summerville. I know the Mt. P. is a night time one but I don't think the others are. I'll get some dates, but post if you are willing to ride.
Thanks David

I was hoping to get more feedback on this.
I don't want to ride alone.

David you might also check with the local papers. Most will allow you to publish your events for free. Good publicity.

Parade ride
Wow I do like the idea and would love to commit to such an occasion but I can't plan that far ahead without pre planing the year before with uncle. As I told you on the phone just found out that the plant I am covering is working on the 15th on Nov so unless they change that schedule I'm going to miss the hammon too! Only bad thing about working for Uncle. Sorry but if I am free on the date of the parade and even close to the area will be happy and proud to ride with the club. I just never know!!!Sorry

Doc, If you can ride, you can drive the 62, and I'll get Robs 62 (guy I worked for on James Island) and drive it. I've tried to get him to join us, but his interests are in Dragon Boat racing and he spends most of his free time doing that. However, he said I can borrow his 1988 FJ62 any time.

I can probably do the Mt. Pleasant one depending on the date. As long is it is after Thanksgivining I can drive the 40. If its is before I can drive the 80.

I looked it up online. It's on Dec 14 (Sunday evening), But the guidelines said only 2 vehicles per participant (???) Doesn't sound too car club friendly to me. I'll call tomorrow and see. We may have to do somewhere else besides Mt. P.
Also all vehicles must be lit for the hollidays

I talked to them today, and she said car clubs don't count in the 2 vehicle maximum.
She was very excited that we wanted to participate.
I told her 6 to 8 vehicles......Can we get that many?
I have to register soon, there's a 100 entry max. It's already up to 70.
Please let me know soon if you can make it.

Our local jeep (with a little "j") club does all the events and festivals, air shows, parades, etc. Members get to "park close" and inside the gate. Check with the Chamber they usually organize those events or at least have a calender and know who the contact persons are.

Clean with lights...I wonder if my 8 foot tall inflatable GRINCH would fit on top of FJC if we drove slow in parade.

They reserve the SANTA for the fire truck at the end of the parade. They have done this since I was little.
Also, no throwing candy or getting out of the car.
A kid got killed when he went out in the road for a piece of candy a long time ago. and no throwing since.
That doesn't mean we cant drive to the side and hand out some though
