July Meeting Ideas

Can I put in a request for the July meeting to be the evening of July 25th? That is the only time I will be there on a weekend. I'll be working in C-Town from the 5th through the 26th, but my band is playing back here in Myrtle Beach every weekend until the 25th. Any evening during the week would work, also, but that doesn't help a lot of people.

Band, like music, where are you all playing at and when, keep us updated with this info we may want to come and enyoy your musicl skills and harmonise quietly to ourselves as we cry in our beer. Would much rather hear some one I know than some one I don't

That's what I thought too, I think it's still up in the air. Suggestions anyone. ???? The 25th is a Friday, therefore I might not be able to be there but I will be there in spirit, and email if it's on Friday nite. But I did think we were going to MB area either MB itself or georgetown for the July meeting , might have had that part of the June meeting while I was delayed(read lost) arriving.

I'll be in Litchfield 24th-27th. So just let me know. I'll get to have my first LC meeting and hopefully will have the stickers and a bunch of stuff to give away.

LOL this is like the childrens exercise where you tell one the Fire Truck is Red and then by the time it gets through 30 other students it is "Five bucks was found in my bed". LOL

Previous comments were that if we had enough interest with possibly having one meeting every 6months to 12months in Myrtle Beach-Georgetown-Pawleys area and then do the same for Beaufort-Blufton-Parris Island-Savannah area. Additionally there was talk about having a meeting once a quarter during the week rather than weekends. Once we have a good idea on membership and locations from the group as it grows this Summer it will be easier to figure out. Right now though with only 2-3 people attending the meetings it does not do much for us to schedule in Georgetown when only three Charleston based members are going to show up....which I am sure you can appreciate.

More to come-- but our discussion at the meeting this past week (28 June) was to have a Trail Ride possibly to see if it would entice some of you guys to attend and recruit some new members. Also, we handed out business cards with contact information to recruit members for our merry band of wheelers....but again you had to be there to get them.

Wherever we have the meeting we need maximum participation to get this deal rolling and if that means sticking cards or shaking hands with every FJ40, FJ60, FJ62, FJ80, FJ Cruiser (FJ120) you see on the road, at beach, at mall, at bar, at dealership.....then so be it. We have lots of things we are primed to support but need active membership to make it happen.

We should have one or two members in Beaufort area...a couple more in Myrtle Beach area....and remainder in greater Charleston area. Recruit and hunt down those of the toyota with low gear differentials and invite them for the next meeting. As soon as the location is confirmed we will send a blast to everyone that has sent their contact information to our email address at lowcountrylandcruisers@gmail.com

if you haven't yet...then do it now so we can get this party started. thanks for your interest and for your future active involvement.

2X on the membership drive, we need new members just cause cruiser folk are cool (use your generation slang) folks, and usually hard working people. The site to me is not important whether in Charleston Beauford or MB,as all are in general area. Dates are important to me however in the ability to arrive myself as are most of our club members family and employment responsiblities are often the killer of club get togethers. I will shake the hand and press flesh to every LC I see, but with my work some are going to be in Upstate and right now Old state area, does not matter, we need to get the word out that a low country chapter is trying to get going and a good bunch to meet with. We need to have as it has been mentioned week day meetings, and alternate site, however there are individuals (and I am one) that will likley only get to a week day meeting once ever 2 years, no biggie, ill aggrivate you all on the site and keep as informed as I can. Then catch you at the meetings where I can. This is why a large club like Upstate can function with 150 or so members they always have enoughf people to show for most activities. We will get there but now it's just us 10 or 12 with three or four fairly active souls, but we will keep pushing. Enoughf soap box on to the details of when and where. Thank you Ron and David for your work so far and the work to come

Lets try a Wed afternoon meeting. I will be gone (scout camp) from the 20-26 July so I cant be there that week. Location does not matter.
We also talked about a trail ride (possibly North Field) on Aug 2nd. If not there wo could go where Ron found by his old house.
Steve, any word about the ride with the Bronco club.
I'm having DT's.........must ride(soon)

I'll keep watching this thread. It will all work out. Once we get a date I'll try to schedule some time around it. Georgetown, Charleston it doesn't matter to me. I'm up for a couple hr road trip.

Just Pm me the details on the meeting otherwise I'll bug you to death. Sure to be out of town in mid week but that's not a problem let's see if it gets some of the others involved.

We did one in Awendaw...one in West Ashley....how about one south of Charleston slightly in Hollywood at Bubba-Que bbq joint? Or JBs Smoke Shack on Johns Island. Bubba-Q has great buffet and lots of parking....you can come down 17 or if in the creek or flowertown cut down 165 to 17.

up to you guys.....just let me know and I will clear it with the joint if it looks like we will have more than 2 or 3 show up since david will be out of area.....will need to be around 23 or 24 July I would think.

I say we meet on Wednesday or Thursday night......at JBs Smoke Shack or some other eating establishment. If someone can contact JBs and see what time they close or if we show 30 minutes before closing if they are going to kick us out while we are eating.

They got all you can eat buffet plus menu order food...of brisket, ribs, pulled pork, chicken and all the fixings. We can discuss our final plans for a trail ride on the following saturday with those that are able to make it.

In mean time I am trying to secure that run for us if the North Field thing does not happen...or the Bronco place.

Let's do JB's on the 30th at 6:00 as long as they're open.
We'll do the Aug meeting in Georgetown or Pauleys Island if that works for everyone.
Still want to ride on the 2nd of Aug. We should know more about where before the meeting.

Sounds good to me, can't make the mid week but no problem my friends will keep me posted, if they aren't still crying about bent body parts. And if in town uncle permitting may ride with you David. Any who sounds good. The 19th Brock and I have a commitment but other than that it's good to go. Doc
