Even if it is a small coastal group ready for the trip, I have all the BIG pots and cookers ready for a "boil".

Anyone else?

It's official. I'll be in Charleston on Nov.1. If you guys want to come down during the week, I would be glad to party with you. If it is on a weekend, I will be with the Misses and the kid back in Myrtle Beach until they move down in June.

Yes it is a go but this is for next year. It takes time for us to plan an event like this and get everything right. I think it would be cool if we could get the Charleston crowd together Thursday night and Fish , crab and shimp on Friday have a boil friday night and then take a majority of the winnings back to G'ville for a big boil Sat night.

4 months down.

Looks like we have a lot of new members from the low country join in the UC ranks. Maybe this should be an all down in charleston thing and make the weekend out of it.

So we need a location that will hold 20 or so. Close to water and a bathroom. A place that can handle a buch a beer drinkers an big pots of crab and shrimp.

Anyone have any suggestions. Low Country Cruiser Boil 08. Early Oct or before or after annual.

Marshall, I am a Scoutmaster down here in Mt. Pleasant, and we go camping once a month all year long. I could hook you up with several possibilities in the area. We can talk about it this weekend.

This is right up me and my crews alley- A place with Cabins would be perfect. Hunting looks great.

I will look around and see if I still have the info for GoldBug island. There is a group there that has the little blue place right before you cross the drawbridge to Sullivan's Island. We had our wedding reception there and it was awesome. It would mean that we'd have to stay somewhere else though... They have running water, covered areas, and indoor hall

Yeah, that's it! We had a blast there. Real friendly people who own it too... Do you have connections?

There is a KOA on HWY 17 in Mt. Pleasant that might work.

I called and left a message to see how much it would cost. Do you guys have any dates in mind that I could check availability.

The KOA sounds cool, but not sure how they are with drinking.

I've never checked out the Kicking Horse, but would be glad to look into it. I only stay a couple of miles away from both so it isn't a problem.

bump

The wife and I are really up for this. We love the beach at that time of year
and usually make a point of an Oct beach trip. It's time for Yodel to
make a trip to the beach again. This time behind Coach...not Gundy.

Members only ? Where do I sign ?

Just saw the "road trip possibility" thread on the subject, and posted there, but I'll repeat myself here.

I used to live in Beaufort, on Lady's Island. If you haven't been to Hunting Island before, it's gorgeous !

It's actually my favorite beach on the east coast, and I've seen most of 'em, south of Va.

IH8-crowded beaches. No tourist traps, just big live oaks and palmettos, right at the sand. Good beach fishing late summer,to boot

I've been interested in taking a trip down there to show my wife, as long as we've been married. This might be a good excuse for me.

I'd be willing to join UC, just for this trip alone !

Talked it over with the Pres. As long as you a member of TLCA or club that is part of TLCA your invited. Of course being a member of UC is only $15 a year. Your allowed to have one person with you that is not part of UC, TLCA or another TLCA club.

after some discussion with gundy...myself and my son jake are gonna plan to attend this event...we will be without a cruiser...we will be bringing 50 lbs of prime home grown kansas steaks to add to the cook out...its actually a trade for the 500lbs of shrimp my son will eat...we are members of tornado alley cruisers so it looks like we qualify to attend...we will probably end up joining UC....and heck may eventually move that direction...thanks gundy...and the rest of you UC members

Cool insider info

The Ranger there is an old friend. LOL..he cut my grass here in Pumpkintown
when he was a little kid. I'll call him and give him a heads up about our crowd.

It's on my calendar now, Labor Day Weekend right? The prime home grown Kansas steaks and the Hunting Island venue sealed the deal. Maybe I can get my little Whaler operable in time to help with the shrimping.
I need to learn to throw a cast net.

Any driveable beaches around there? I've been wanting to do some sand wheeling ever since I bought Bonnie. I had a lot of fun in the Empty Quarter in a 454 Blazer, a 4X4 Hilux and on a Suzuki TS400.

Last time I tried sand I had to have my old 535 Bimmer towed off the north end of Carolina beach. Man that sand is FINE. I got a little too slow and bogged to the floorboards
