FJ40 trans to chevy V-8 bellhousing

Hi
I got this with a parts vehicle that I picked up and I have no use for it. This bell housing was mated to the stock Toyota transmission in a 1971 FJ-40. There was a chevy V-8 Block on the other end. It has the stud where the clutch fork attaches. I cleaned it up as it was crudely painted and really dirty. The only markings on it were "GM" (Ithink) and 460 486 over the number 1. I don't know much about these so if my asking price is out of line let me know. I am asking $100.00 or best offer. Shipping is at the buyers expense, but I will help in any way possible. Thanks for looking.

I call it a mutt because the title says "1971" yet it has ambi doors and four on the floor. Still sorting and dismantling. Look forward to getting help when needed and giving help when qualified.
Thanks

that looks like a factory gm cast aluminum bell housing to me. this will not work with a cruiser 4spd.

I think you also need the spacer plate to use it with the Toyota 3 speed...

Thx orange. It was bolted to a transmission in the truck which I still have and it looks like my other toyota transmissions. Is it possible that the transmission is some sort of GM product? Thanks for the information. I will pull the ad if necessary as I am not trying to scam anyone. I only know what I saw when it was on the truck.
Thanks

Maybe there was a plate between the transmission and the block? I will look. Let me know if this is possibly the case.

Plate goes between the bell housing and trans.

Or you may have a Chevy trans attached to the bell housing (SM465, SM420)

i would'nt pull the ad. i don't think anybody on here thinks you're trying scam people with your ad. i certainly don't think so.

but like the others mentioned, if there was a toyota trans behind this bell housing than there'd have tobe an adapter plate between the two. for a 3spd, you'd have 1/4" or so plate with a round hole in the middle. for a 4spd you'd have a 1" or so plate with a figure 8 hole in the middle.

hth

I think the 460 468 stamped on it shows that it is a chevy bellhousing. I think it is from a chevy truck with a 12 inch clutch.
