team lop headed
Reposting my Axial AX10 build thread.
I bought the rig already built from a CL ad.
Modified stock chassis
CKRC skid plate
CKRC ax10 batt/servo plate
TCS rear uper link plate
JR DS8717 servo
Futaba FP-S31S servo (dig)
RC4WD R2D trans
Novak Super Rooster
Integy 35 turn motor
STRC Alumunum C's and Knuckles
Uinversal drives in front
Modified Traxxas big bore shocks
Axial bead locks
Airtronics MX-3 third channel modifed third channel
2 - Thunder Power 11.1v lipo batteries
Lipo cut off
Pro-Line Hammer tires (look like TSL SX) with memory foam
Since then I bought a 65t motor for it, but have yet to get it in.
I changed the shock oil to a lighter oil
I star cut the foam
and I installed a much better body.

you'll like the better body until you roll it
what weight shock oil? I've got 25wt in my Losi, but am looking to go heavier in there....just changed shocks (again) after tearing two of the Alum coilovers apart...
and what LiPo are you running? On the front axle? on my list, have the charger set for it, just need to decide what LiPo to spring for...

I've got the stock body for real rock climbing. The cruiser body is just for pimpin' It does help a lot with rearward endos. It just sits on the rear doors until I give it a dab of reverse.
The LiPos are Thunder Power 11.1v 1380mA. I'll get a pic of one sitting on the front axle mount. When you ditch the wedding to go to the HC hoedown you can check 'em out.
I'm running 30wt shock oil now. I'll see how it does.
I think I have a source of a bunch of good rocks for the yard.

I'm still running NiMH sticks, strapped above the gearbox....works, but want to either do saddle-type lipo's on the front axle or the single offset like yours....
price wise, likely stick to the offset...

Got the 65t in tonight after dealing with a broken tail dog. It doesn't have a lot of top speed, but it gets there fast.
I'd like to say I know what change made what difference but I ran into the classic wheeler's problem. I outbuilt my trail. My little pile of logs and rocks doesn't have any lines that it can't just walk up.
The PO wired the red to negative so when I wired the new motor it went backwards. I switched the direction at the controller and now the trim is off.
Here's a pic of the LiPo on the axle mount.

Score!
They are putting in artificial turf on the school football field and graded out a ton (literally) of rocks. They were planning on taking them away today, but I got there first. I have to spend my lunch loading the Tundra, but I got a free rock garden.
I might leave the 600 pounder.

the driveshafts are plastic...the ends for the links are plastic...the main gear for the trans is plastic, and some of the stock internals are too...and I believe the trans case is plastic too...
all upgradable

My driveshafts and rod ends are still plastic, but I do have an all steel transmission.
with front dig.
Check this out.
A bed full of rocks for free. I had to skip lunch to load them, but now I don't have to go to the gym this afternoon.

Got em unloaded and thrown over the fence. I'd like to build up a corner or against a wall to get some height. The RC store has a platform underneath to get a mountainside about 5' tall. Makes for good climbs.
Right now it's just a pile the way they landed.
It rained while I unloaded so the rocks are pretty slippery in the vid. I still should have been able to catch the tumble at the end.

65t motor+new rock pile+weighted fronts+front dig=busted front driveshaft.
Time for another trip to the hobby store.
All they have right now is a Punisher drive shaft, which is a little spendy, but if I want to play today...

I've been running the cruiser body a lot. The sides are so tall it won't flip on its roof and I can almost always get it back on the wheels when its on its side.
I thought about getting a baja bug body for it,. Reportedly that's what a lot of comp guys run because they generally won't stay rolled over.

Just ordered steel heims for the lower links.
I suspect I'll need them as I ordered some 5.55 inch tall super sticky comp tires for it. Out croppers.
I'm gonna need another Punisher drive shaft too, I think.

Next up is a tube body. Can't beat the price on a pro-line. Just ordered one and a spare set of bead locks from The Crawler Store

The outcroppers and steel ends showed up today. The Outcroppers are way taller than the hammers and are tacky to the touch. I'm gonna wait until the beadlocks show up so I can mount them once. I'll take some video of the two tires back to back.

I've gota get new beadlocks for my Axial...the Rovers on the stock Losi locks rub the server horn on one side and the 3C LiPo on the other side...
however the 3C made a huge difference....like a switching from a carbed 350 to a LS1

What's your run time increase?
Didja get a LiPo limit switch?
I have one, but I still managed to run one cell down too far. I was able to jump start it with my old charger enough to get it to take a charge again.

This crap is way too much fun.
Been staring at the Outcroppers for three days waiting for the beadlocks. They were sitting at home when I got here along with the new tuber body.
I'll have to break them down to weight 'em, drill 'em and modify the foams, but I couldn't wait and mounted them up.
The FJ40 body still fits on over the tuber, but it'll need trimmin and I'll have to do something about the lack of body posts.

Ran the outcroppers this morning and they sucked.
weighted them and put in the star cut memory foams from the Hammers and they now rock. I just did the fronts and it's a world of difference.
I can't get them up my patio step yet. It's a vertical climb just shy of the wheel base. I have to freewheel the rear axle with the dig or it flips it. Rather than just spin like the Hammers did the Outcroppers flex and dig and try really hard. I bet I could make it with some effort.

Definitely need a upgraded rear driveshaft. Blew the cross out three times today.
Rock racing would be fun. I'm thinking long wheelbase MOA tuber myself.

assembled the Losi yesterday afternoon at the camper...one of the set screws for the d-shaft pin wasn't tight, so had to repair that....then promptly busted a front axle shaft...fortunately, Losi was on the ball and all 'early' serial number LCC owners have been sent spare parts, so will redo that at home tonite. Also need to hook up the dig servo.
The driveshafts on my Axial have been fine...other than the set screw popping off a few times at the output/input points....Losi does double-screws there, wish Axial had done that

Blew the rear d-shaft again. Ordered another punisher shaft along with some more metal rod ends. I'm thinking of triangulating the lower links a bunch more to look like Ginger's new rig.
I had to force myself from ordering a set of X-locks after reading the reviews on RCC.
