So you call your locks of hair dog hair? And BTW, you said shafts... ;-)
And yes...I kept that comment PG-13 for the kids...

I do need rock lights. They are on the wish list. I thought about lighting up the whole course, but rock lights would be better.
Last night I took all my shock springs out to try a droop set up. A lot of us run our 1:1 rigs with very little up travel, so I thought I'd give it a shot.
So far no big difference. It's not any more steady on sidehills or climbs. You have to go slow enough to allow the shocks to droop when the belly hangs up. I might get another set of springs to cut down for a semi-droop.
It does look cool. It would be hard to see over the tires in 1:1.

My new tires are rc4wd x-locks. I like them pretty well. Not as sticky as Panthers, but at least 1/4" taller.

Why doesn't any of this crap come with instructions?
I got my new shocks a couple of days ago. Of course they ship dry. I filled them with oil like my Traxxis shocks and the Ax stock shocks. They lock up solid. I had to goof around with oil levels until I could get them to damp, but not lock.
Got my Futaba receiver today to replace the Airtronics that I broke. No instructions. I hooked up everything just like it came of the Airtronics and it won't do anything. The polarity is backwards and I think the numbering is different.
I got it working, but WTF. Not even downloadable instructions on Futaba's website.

Holy crap!
I sure wish I didn't buy a 3cell lipo for my controller. I think I have two extra Thunder Power lipos now.
I bought a maxamps 50c trying to figure out why I got crappy battery life. I don't know how much longer it'll last yet, but the car is WAY faster. Completely different.
Great website. Great info. you can order it with exactly the ends you want. no swapping ends.
A little spendy.

Maybe, but you left a bottle of Captain last time, so it's all good.
I did something to my trans this morning. Too much extra torque. Hopefully something just came loose.

Stripped out the gear on the output shaft.
Looks like I ordered the wrong gear set the last time. The output shaft that came with the kits isn't for the dig trans.
So I'm running, but no dig.
Right parts ordered from rc4wd.

Got my dig working again and got an aluminum skid plate because my delron one wasn't doing well with a lot of disassembly and reassembly.
Then 4rnr came over with his new rear steer. Screw dig. I need that channel for rear steer.

4ws definatly adds another dimension of yummy goodness! Not to mention the techinical situations, but just turning around on my couch is much better. A car with f&r locker, center lock, and soft tires, doesnt turn for crap!

I do believe the rear steer puts you in another class.. Super modified..
Spent far too many hours in a deer stand this weekend. I was on the internet looking at parts for a car I have yet to see. I am going to ditch the dig for rear steer if possible. Thinking it is the way to go. Need to get it on the "Real Naperville" rock pile first though...

Better hurry up. It's gonna be too cold soon. There's no way I can get the indoor set up going before T4T.
45 and sunny Saturday - assuming they can actually predict the weather 5 days out.
