Pics of the frame after it's cleaning. The acid bath did a great job on the inside as well.
Got a little progress done on frame repairs also today. Will continue tomorrow.

great work, yours went faster than mine. I used the fast wire brush/grinder to remove the glue on the roof. And also have under the windshield rust throughs. Found many of the same things when I did the 2" body lift and frame brush down. Didn't do the acid dip - maybe I should have

I've got welding porn of the boxing kind to post up but I need help tonight to get the word out. I need a tranny crossmember from a post '85 60 if anyone has a spare. I thought I was in the clear but apparently not. The crossmember is needed to gage the motor mounts welding position before it goes to galvanization. I hate that I need something on the eve of a weekend.

I have a 5/86 FJ60 (with a H55F installed in 1999)
I don't have a spare crossmember, nor can I loan you mine, but I can provide you with measurements based on my vehicle. Don't know if that would be worth squat.. but just thought I would offer.

Thanks Output. I appreciate the effort to help out. Just to confirm, your CM has a total of 8 bolts holes, four per frame rail, two on each side of the frame correct? This will actually help out a lot. The frame that's being galvanized has two welded mounts per side of the frame, eight bolts holes. My old frame has mounts bolted to the frame, not welded and the CM mounts with only four bolts.

Last week I got the boxing finished on the frame. There were a couple blank wholes that I welded nuts on inside the frame. I'm going to use these for the rear bumper mounting points. Six on each side. Still need to do a little grinding on the welds to clean it up. The seams were all v notched and there was enough gap between the new steel and old steel to form a good bonding of the two.

Got the driver, passenger and back seat upholstered. I used Cruisercorps set because I wanted the cloth instead of vinyl like Spector has. Both vendors have a great product but I've sat in too many vinyl seats and have gotten swamp ass. Cloth will breath better. I did use the Spector new seat cushions. Grateful that they got this on the market.

BACK IN ACTION!!

Umm...really sorry for the long delay but right after the last post I came down with a really bad cool/flu and was laid up for two weeks not wanting to get out of bed. After that time I continued to work on the 60 and took pictures but didn't post because of time. January 2015 rolls around and I have to start work, on the road. 19 states 9 months experiential marketing tour in a '42 RV. I got off tour in August this year and start back on the project. I'll do the best to update the process but might skip around a bit.

This was the daily driver for the past couple years. It got me by but the rust was eventually getting too bad. The frame was full of rust and dried dirt and the frame was full of it. Everything from about 2 inches from the bottom of the door down had rust and rot everywhere. Several large wholes that I didn't every notice.

Here's some frame info. The '85 frame had a V8 in it. I did not keep the V8 but still had a rebuilt 2F that was going back in. I took the motor mounts from the '83 frame and welded them on the '85 frame. Here's a representation of the frame full of dirt.
