The oppurtunity presented it self to get hold of this beauty,

Will be doing a fairly extensive build on this one.

Nice to have a designated toy.

Let the pictures do the talking.

Picked her up with the Amarok

First up was the body lift. So i Could build the bumper to suit.

Started building up the front bar.

Got my Dimple die set up sorted.

thought it was finished,

But added a hoop.

Got a start on the Airbox for the snorkel.

New 9mm leads plugs and MSD coil,

Wheel spacers arrived , am just waiting to get it registered before fitting them up.

Staretd on the Carb hat , oh by the way its running a 5l 308 V8.

Quadrajet , 4 Barrel , comes on song when the secondaries open.

Shoe horned the 4"filter in,that thing is huge.

UV stable polycarbonate lid , will be nice to be able to keep an eye on what going on inside.

mounted the winch control and isolation switch,

snorkel plumbed.

Tyre carrier underway , with clearance for 37's , will be doing a can holder on the other side.

Machined some caps for the swing away hinges , never liked the crappy hubcap covers,

Nice work! I used a car door latch on my swing-away tyre carrier, $0 & works great.

V8 70 series are the shizz

Fitted a new waterpump as the bearing was letting go on the old one.

Also changed all the radiator hose extensions from steel to aluminium.

Might explain why so much rust came out of the thing.

Got the rear end sorted. Used autoloc ' s big bear claws latches and added some stubs for handles.

Mounted them in the bumper to keep the swing away arms clean.


Turned out spot on. The double action in the latch is really nice and adds a pop out when you open them.


Used the cruiser plate surround on the can holder to keep it oem ish.

Have some led plate lights to go in there and some led indicators to go in the bar.

Started on the sliders went with something a little out of the ordinary.
Will build an attachment for the hilift.

Unlike me to have most of the job chopped out before i start.

Frame brackets, 10mm and 8mmx75 plate , dont think they will be going anywhere.

Painted.

Am plotting the next step with suspension , so i thought i would see how she flexes, pretty damm well i thought, the rear is pretty tight so im going to lose a few leaves from the pack.

Fitted up the sliders and tested the hi-lift , 4mm of deflection which I'm happy with.

Had trouble sealing the probe off for the thermo fan switch,
they usually have a small gasket half moon thing to help the seal.

I decided to cut a groove in the extension pipe so it sits a little flatter,

Next thing that was playing on me was the path of the throttle cable, it was nowhere near a straight pull, re-drilled the mount and straightened it up,
When i was resetting the cable lengths and so on i noticed the secondary butterflies werent opening , I dialed in the stop bolt on the accelorator pedal ( had to trim it down actually) and wham full quad butterflies ,
Sounds and goes even more ridiculuos than before.

fitted some little 4"spots to the a pillars,

without.

with , the bonnet'glare isnt as noticable in the flesh

Where did you get the flares from. I just smashed two of mine and have to replace them. Are they original Toyota parts .

They are OEM toyota ones , with the intergrated mud flaps.
They where on the car when i bought it.
One was snapped in 2 when I bought it and I glassed it back together.

Need to repaint the others to match now , going to remove the mudflaps and smooth the bottom edges soon.
