Got that right! Here it is parked outside the pub while I'm waiting to head up the beach for a couple of nights.
Not that cool in the back but I don't sit back there...

A whole month! I always admire a man who completes a 5 speed, turbo and coil spring conversion during family breaks :D

I'm not sure my 500,000 km 2H would appreciate a turbo too much.

I did her a favour and kept it to about 80km/h on the freeway today. Not sure the drivers behind thought I was doing anyone a favour though. It's a lot quieter with the windows up too!

The way I see it Pete is that you're giving more drivers the opportunity to pass, and therefore see, the an Australian legend.

Maybe I should have said artefact.

G'day. Happy new year mudders. Back at work this week, bit of a shock to the system after about 6 weeks off. Had a week at Rainbow Beach just after New Year. Lots of sand, fishing, beer and general fun. Spent a bit of time driving on the beach. All the kids love travelling in the back of the troopy, even the adults too but they just won't admit it.
Nothing too trying in terms of 4wding but the troopy just goes and goes. Had a bit of a problem disengaging 4wd but discovered that if I put it in reverse and drop the clutch it will go straight back into 2wd.
Sorry guys not a lot of pics.
Pete

That's an old trick that helps with most 4x4s to put them back in 2wd nice job

Pete, really glad you're having fun in the old girl. She looks at home on the beach :)

if it wasn't for the modern roof rack you'd have a hard time dating the first pic.

Nice work, looks like fun.

My below par abilities have been mentioned before... Oh well at least I'm not doing anything that's not reversible.

The seats are up!

So I headed off for a 3 hour trip up the coast to pick up a full set of troopy rear seats belts! I could only convince my 9yo daughter to come with but we decided to make it an overnight trip so we could fit some fishing in.
What an unbelievable 40 series spotting trip! On the way up a soft top 40, 2(!) 45/47 troop carriers and an early 45 ute. On the way back a 40 LX hard top, a 45/47 ute and, wait for it, a 45V!
Of course that's not including the troopy carcass that donated the seat belts, it's neighbour a 40 hard top carcass and the BJ42 driven by old mate.
Well I picked up a few parts...

Trying to decide what to do with the buckles which have a little rust. Tried some rattle can chrome on the bottom right

What a score mate, and a bargain to boot. Shame about the fish. Not a shame about the V, where's the pics?

Sorry cult. No pics of the 45v. Reckon the look on my face would have made a great pic.
Geoff. You're right, priceless. I reckon I'll spray the buckles for now, see how they go.

Well I cleaned up my new parts and put them in today...

That had better say 'pocket' on the handle.
