Ok, I have a question..

I don't own a 45, but I looked at one yesterday and can't for the life of me figure out what year it is.

It seems to me that CDN trucks have an extra digit over the US ones, but they don't seem to follow ANY sort of sequential order...

Frame number of the one I looked at was FJ45-174877. From what I have found, that SHOULD be a 1974 (according to the 40 series charts at SOR - why does the 45 chart stop at '68?), but I see trucks registered on here listd as 1978 with #171705 and 176662.... Being that this one is between those numbers, would seem logical that is a 1978?

Is there any for sure way to determine the year? Wiper motor is below the window (what year did that change?) VIN plate is on the firewall not the fender. Engine listd was a 2F, H42, K082 axles so pretty sure it is post '73 and pre '79 (?)

Also, the model code is FJ45LP-KK. What is the second K? (Canada?)

Thanks for any help, and if you want to add it to the registry.... It's not mine, extremely rough, and one step away from being recycled... (but not if I have my way!)

Wiper motor below the window indicates 75 or newer. That goes for all 49-series everywhere.

New addition here (at least i think so, i searched the thread for the Frame No, and nothing came back)

1981 FJ45 Troopy
Frame: FJ45285980
Engine: 2F 794499
Location: Sydney, Aus

Current status: one month away from a frame-off restoration. Many pics to follow, and many questions to the group here. I'm a newbie, but over the next 4 months of restoration, i should be active enough to earn my stripes.

I don't know, I've never seen it. But I understand I own it. Maybe this week?

My Troopie was delivered today. The data tag inside the hood, on the firewall says it's a:
FJ45L-KC
FJ45-285427
ENGINE 2F 516991
4 sd

I don't own a 45. //. FJ45-174877. //. 1978? //. FJ45LP-KK.

Above statement revised...

I now own a 45, FJ45-174877, confirmed 1/1978 (FYI, it's on the door jamb) Freeborn red. Very rough, but I love it! Now, to finish my FJ/BJ swap in my 40 so I can start a swap on this one! (No engine/trans in it currently)
