Hi all,

Im removing the cab of my HJ47 ute (pick-up to our northern friends) project.

I have a few questions about how to disconect certain things.

1. The speedo/odo cable runs into the back of the cluster whats the best way to disconect it?

2. The fuel tank is a seperate unit that sits under the cab, is disconecting it from the cab as simple as unbolting it and un clipping the lines from the underside of the cab?

3. I havnt even tried the handbrake, transmission and transferrcase levers, but are these simple or am I going to run into problems?

THanks for any advice, and if there are any other issues Im going to run into please advise !

Hi there

Yes that is all pretty simple, levers will stay with the box when you take the body off. If you take the tank out its a great idea to clean it, it will save a lot of problems later if there is crap in it.

Speedo cable, Disconnect at transfer. That'll give you a bit more slack. Also disconnect battery negative.
Transfer case linkage probably could stand cleaning and some grease.
