Anyone have a source/part number for this? I ordered the 3022 and it is too wide. I've seen threads talking about getting a narrower one, but no parts number listed. I've seen ones on Alibaba that appear would work, however, I don't need 100 of these bulbs (although maybe I buy these and sell them to Mudders lol).

Here is the location of the bulb: https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/da...on-heater-box-or-on-dash.504625/#post-7007053

My bulb fits similarly to this: https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/light-bulbs-for-land-cruisers.69423/page-8#post-7947995

Alibaba LED - http://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/high-lumens-12V-28MM-festoon-led_669222559.html

I wonder if this style (fuse) would work: http://www.diodedynamics.com/store/led-bulbs/listed-by-size/28mm-fuse/28mm-1-5050-smd

Thanks for your help!

I pulled up my old order from Superbright LEDs and it says:

3022-x4: 4 LED Festoon Bulb | $ 2.84 | 3022-NW4: Natural White

I didn't have a problem fitting it on my 1980 FJ40. I have the same bulb for my under-dash light.

That one doesn't work on the older ones as noted above in the link I posted on fit. It is too fat. It does work on the dash knob light.

Just contacted a couple of suppliers to see if they could send a sample to see if they work. If they do work, perhaps I'll order a bigger quantity and sell them for cost+shipping. Not trying to get rich on this. Doesn't sound like a huge need out there but it is a nice to have and the initial investment is probably less than $20. :)

I put a LED in my dash lamp, noticed a bit of a difference. Put a stick on LED strip for the heater and removed the stock light. It just sticks to the bottom of the dash and has like 6 led's. Very bright, I got it in green, and it was like 3 bucks shipped from china.

Okay so you got the type that has the wires connected to it and just plugged those into the existing wiring and then stuck the light on. 6 LEDs must be screaming bright, probably more than I want. But innovative solution!

This style here from ebay. They are bright, but not screaming bright. If you get white ones, then yea they are screaming bright and will light up the whole truck. Also being that its spliced in, I can adjust the brightness with the regular dash knob along with the other dash lights.

Given how accessible this light is, I'd be inclined to just pop in a regular bulb and call it a day. It will be quite some time before you'd ever need to change it again.

I might be late to the party so forgive this post if it's already old hat. First thanks to this thread I realized where that other light from my parts bin went and I started restoring it. Mine had a weird bulb attached to it, so I took a picture of it and emailed to Coolerman to see if I could just remove it, he said yes. I also asked him if he knew what bulb it took and he sent the following...

Original OEM Incandescent Bulb # is 3022 festoon style (modern Dome Light style)
An LED replacement is Part # 3022-x4 from www.superbrightleds.com

Okay good news the fuse style light above works perfectly! Only thing I'm going to do is put some electrical tape on the ends of the metal housing as there is just a little room between the ends of the bulb and the housing. Figure with the gentle ride of the car it could move and contact the housing which may cause a short?

It's really bright without the green lens on it but much more subtle with it on.
