This whole trailer was created for a platform for an idea I had a long time ago, my hot water box, it includes a 6 gal water heater, shower and sink. I needed something to mount it to so here we go!

I'm a CL fanatic, so I started looking for a trailer to suit my needs. I found what I thought would work, but needed some serious upgrading.
Here she is in all her glory:

I pulled the side rails, rear wood piece and started mocking up the box to see where it fit the best and to see what it might look like with 315's.

I knew the little tires and wheels weren't going to cut the mustard so off to redneck trailer I go. I wanted 6 lug Toyota so I ordered a 3500lbs axle to suit my dimensions, $225 with bolt kit.

I called my uncle, he had a set of crusty LC wheels. I stripped them and repainted.

New axle mounted with LC wheels and cheap a$$ CL tires!

Now that it's at the height that I want, time for some metal.

Let me be the first to say that...I'm no fabricator, I have an idea and I get it done after hours and hours of restless thought!
After hours of searching the interweb trying to find fenders to cover 315's, I found these monster's at etrailer.com for a reasonable price. I also ordered some drop legs that I'll need to extend.

The fenders are full coverage but I had to trim them down.

That's where I'm at at on this. I still need to figure out the tongue and max coupler, water tank mount, battery, propane tank, lights, wiring, tailgate, floor and front and side panels. So get ready for some questions!

That looks like a good start. I am lirking a lot on the trailer threads right now but am working on my own build. Similar in some ways to yours. I'll keep an eye on your build.

Also, what part # are those fenders on etrailer? Searched their site and didn't see anything like that.
Edit: Just found F13X36-1R. Looks like it is 13" wide. Is this what you used?

Yeah I picked mine up today. Can you tell me more about your hot water box. This is a new product to me.
Just saw your signature. Very nice box.

I just decided that I wanted a hot water source to take showers, wash dishes and just wash your hands. I wanted it to be instant hot water. I've used the Zodi water heaters and found that it was too unpredictable or just wouldn't pump the water. We had a popup with a 6 gal water heater and outdoor shower, I loved being able to grab a shower right before bed so that's where the idea came from. I'll have a better idea of how it works when I get the trailer done.

Man that stinks! I just bought a zodi. Guess I'll try it for a trip. May be I'll do a box like yours eventually.

I've been making progress.
Got the fenders mounted.

Plumbed the propane and water to the Hot Water Box and added flooring.

I have to ask, why are you just leaving that kitchen sink up front all exposed like that? The throw back from your tires are going
to beat the front of that trailer, and you've got a great box being built, why not figure out how to cover it up? Looks great BTW,
can't wait to see how it all finishes up.

My plan is to build a Redwood platform that will mount to the front of the trailer utilizing a couple of side stake pockets that will protect against rocks and gravel. Then, once at camp pull the platform off, and place it near the shower for a step and a non muddy place to stand during showering. That's the plan....but subject to change.

Made a lot of progress tonight! I used marine grade 1/2 plywood, 1/2 x1/2 AL angle, attached with SS CSK screws that are hidden. Not sure what color to paint it though...gray same as the hot water box?

Can you back up a bit, how big is that water tank under the floor? That's not 6 gal. I think you have to cover that sink with a lid.
Looking good

I spent most of the afternoon on Friday building the tailgate structure, seems like it takes for ever to build pieces. Also got the propane tank mounted. I ordered the mount for $53. It's well built for the $. After I finished the tailgate I used some wood sealant on the interior plywood and tailgate. I had a quart of brown paint laying around so I painted the floor with it.
