I've used straight wall HF impact sockets for a bunch of years, never any problems.

I do have a nice Sunex swivel set though - which is the bees knees when you need them (e.g. top DS shock on an 80)...

My impact swivels are Expert from Mac. I love em. I'll definitely buy more Expert sockets in the future. I'd like a set of the 1/4" drive and 1/2" drives next. But the 3/8 swivels on my electric impact are SWEET.

I know more than a few people that run the HF impact swivels too though and for the most part they don't blow up.
