Looks like mine could do with your touch haha feel abit ashamed as im not going to this sorta effort with mine, i brought it as a wood hooking bus and something i could also have a good thrash on the weekend with.

Yeah I'm going to be too scared to drive it it will be my toorak tractor for a while would like to build a tuff ute and put the diesel in as panel damage is pretty common on the tracks around herebut we've got the shorty jackaroo for our mud rush at the moment

So back to my first love the rough body work was really coming back to bite me the decision was made to take the shocks, shackles, bushes and reset springs and put them under the white one. The motor has been put on gumtree but I don't want to give it away and unless some one sees the value it will go in my next project. Oh the springs were better inthe white one anyway

One of my biggest struggles was that darn tailgate handle it was until I met Allen through gumtree that I found it and many other little trim pieces that I was after thanks Allen

A very exciting time was getting the back door together see the way it opens it doesn't have the motor you have to get the handle out of the front open the little flap with the key and use the handle to wind down window

Now our attention turned back to the power steering I couldn't find a pulley to go on the fan which I only found on eBay this week but it was decided to run off the crankshaft when I found my third little pig that I got cheap mainly for the upholstered seats and a few little pieces the crank pulley and then sold on

Well this is where my story takes a bit of a twist you've seen photos it was getting close it was looking good all underneath nice and black well I went down to matts where my cruiser was being worked on after my swing at work to find the cruiser stripped back and a make shift spray booth set up the painter had decided whether I liked it or not that he wasn't happy with the job he had done with the paint and he was doing it properly!!!

Yes the body is looking straighter but the over spray on the sound deadener the rubbers around windows the clean tyres I had put on I guess it was worth it. He has now hurt his shoulder and the roof and gutter has been sanded back and the rust is starting to come through which I'm hoping to fix up this weekend when Matt clears the bus he's working on out of the shed

So that brings me to where I am at the moment woofa fabricated a new shock mount this man is amazing with what he can do with metal because we had to move it from where the power steering went in just need to put the dick piece off the diff which I got off the opposite side off another diff to get correct angle. We have put a 5 speed box in so the driveshaft had to be extended on the front and shortened on the back but the engineer shortened it too much so I've source another one and that's been sent to the shop. We went to fire it up the other day it fired with fuel down the carby but it wasn't picking up so we took carby off it it was junked up after soaking for a week and scraping out it has been sent for a bead blast. Then I've got a set of drawers in the back which I'm going to shorten one side and put a battery box in. I've got an amp a couple of 6+9 speakers and an amp I'm getting put on top of the drawers by a sparkie who is running some extra power sockets and Anderson plugs the stereo etc then the rear bar is primed just needs some minor repairs and a paint and we will be cruising

My long term plans for this build is to build a swing away tyre and jerry can holder then fit my factory sub tank a roof top tent and spend some time touring in it with my wife and dogs. I'm sure there is still some twists to come but we are getting close

Not much left of the red one I've got a couple of boxes of bits inthe shed but the motor on a crate and into something else if it doesn't sell and the rest will rot where it is or scrap

Cut my drawers done yesterday to fit my second battery and amp in behind backseat. Carby came back from blasting and is laid out on bench ready to be rebuilt by matty I break out in a sweat just looking at it I don't have the patience
