Also scored some hj61 springs so I can use the rears for the front. (Same exact spring as a 62) swapping the axles this weekend then lockers wheels tires and spacers are going in my dads 60. My high steer is going on my brothers 62 and then I am thinkin the axles go sprung over on the 40 down the road

Anyone have pics of there shackle reversals so I can get an idea where to place my shackle angles?

Where it sits as of Now. Gonna bolt it up and get the tires on

Got the axle centered and eye balled the pinion close enough to tighten up my u bolts. Ditched the small piece left over from me cutting the overloads which dropped it a good inch. I will set the angle and everything will I like it tomorrow and tack all the mounts on then make move one to the front. I will wait for the trans and t case before I fully weld anything so I can see where it all lands with itself

Shocks are tacked in pinion angle set and perches tacked. Gonna pull out the front axle and springs tonight

Fell a little bit behind due to family emergencies this week but I got some time to rip everything out of the front and make my pile of thousands of dollars in parts that do me no good anymore :( setting up my springs tomorrow hopefully

It was disheartening for me to rip out the Toy front end, after spending so much time building / repairing / modifying. Ultimately though, you'll have a much stronger front end :D

The size difference is unbelievable! I'm already in love with the idea of the kingpin being under the 60. I also decided to go with a 1 ton steering box. Does this seem like a dumb idea?

All in the pursuit of something more. It will be sweet when you get it all together.
Thank you sir. Its been eating at me bad lately to finish it

I haven't found a need to convert the steering box. No issues with mine thus far.

I'd suggest keeping your steering box, then reaming out the pitman arm to the 1 ton taper of your choice.

Interesting read about steering boxes and pumps as they pertain to the J6x platform:

Will it still do the full throw of a one ton?

This is more of a question of your pitman arm and steering arm length than anything else.

I will say that when I put my D60 on, my turning radius decreased by what feels like a good amount.

I'd run the 60 box with hydro assist. They're great boxes and with hydro assist you'll have all the power and strength you'll need.

I'm gonna end up running my 60 stuff. Sorry for the late response. My grandpa passed away over the weekend so I haven't been able to get much done but I am hopefully getting the kingpin under today

Sorry to hear about you grandpa. It's never a good time for them to go. It is nice being able to remember the times you had with them though.

Thanks you guys. I messed up my phone so I haven't been able to update till now. Kingpin is sitting underneath and needs the mounts welded up and steering hooked up and the 6bt is pulled and ready to be resealed and I picked up a new water pump from Cummins so I'm almost all the way there on parts
