Found some gasket material at Napa that is 1/16" thick and designed for fuel pump use. So I cut out a gasket and a hole in the tank, before bolting it down to the tank. The hard section of the fuel pump sits about 1/2" from the tank bottom and the sock section can flex down enough to touch the bottom.

Love the red outdoor "workbench"

Lookin good ! Just in time for the Crawl!

Not much but have the battery mounted and main powers wires pulled across ready for termination.

Well after not running for two years, finally got to start up the 2UZ in the FJ40. Still have to finish the cooling system so did not run it for long.

Had the power steering hose made today, they welded a JIC fitting on to the hard line and crimped a hose section to connect to the existing hose.

While priming the steering system, found the steering box mount is broke.

Topped off T-case oil then installed the twin stick, rear disconnect shifter, and boot cover. Of course the labels on shift knobs are upside down.

No documents, mostly just cut out what was not needed, and had a buddy that did most of the wiring.

Too bad... I think you could make some money selling such a document... I know I'd pay a fair amount to be able to quickly and easily get my 2UZ up and running in my 45LV project....

Having some starter issues, clicks sometimes, other times I hear it spinning, but does not engage to turn the fly wheel. Pulled the lower inspection plate and found some ball bearings in the bell housing. Fly wheel looked good, and can still spin the motor with a wrench.

I can't think of anything in the bellhousing area that those ball bearings would be used for, but ball bearings that big would be pretty important to whatever they came out of.

Any updates on this one? I'm getting ready to do a similar swap. What is your rear d-shaft length? I'm doing a full transplant out of a 100 series and the mock up make the rear shaft look pretty short.

Even with the stretch wheel base at ~106" the rear shaft is going to be pretty short.

Looks like the rear shaft will be around 24" flange to flange.
