Stihl 180 ignition module? (1 Viewer)

I have a Stihl MS 180C that will not start. I pulled the plug and with it attached to the spark plug wire cranked the saw and had no spark. What little I've leads me to think the ignition module has failed. Do these fail often? Any recommendations on a replacement? I've found OEM at ca. $60 down to non-OEM at ca. $10.

Did you make sure to ground the plug on the saw when pulling, otherwise you'll never get spark. I've never had one go out, but that's just one example. I would Check the contacts on the magneto for any sign of damage, those time the ignition.

Module going out on MS 180 is rare.
I have an extra one I can send you.

Make sure the contact spring is not flipped on top of the on kill wire "tab" on the master control switch

@D'Animal Thanks for the offer. The saw runs and runs like it should. I think I flooded it the other day which is why I could not get it started. My trouble shooting skills need some work .
