Tore into the passenger side knuckle. Going with a full rebuild on all four corners. (Disc conversion in the rear). So far everything going smoothly. Got it down to the empty socket tonight, going to start the rebuild tomorrow. Hope to have the front end done by the weekend.
Using the full kit from Cruiser Outfitters. Koyo bearings.

BTW I used this video as my instructor. Great resource. There's 9 video. Only need about 5 of them.

Great to see your build thread. I have a 1964 FST (that looks to also be Yosemite Yellow) that I'm in the process of taking back to original... just wrapped up the driver's seat restoration in Coral.

That's the best original example I have seen. Do you have more pics?

Yeah, I'll get you some more pics later on this evening. Mine appears to me to have been repainted at some point in the distant past, but they kept the original color, luckily.

Been working on a full front axle rebuild. Finally got it done last week. So started on the rear. Was going to do a disc brake upgrade in the rear, but when I pulled the drums, all of the brake components were near new in condition. So I've decided to leave them alone. But now I have a full rear disc brake kit I don't know what to do with. Maybe next build...

Anyhoo, got the rear old man Springs installed today. One thing that was way more of a pain in the ass than I thought was the rubber bushings in the emu shocks. Those things are tight as hell.

For kicks I went ahead and mounted the wheels. Looks sweet and makes all the work worth it.
I always dance a bit when I get s*** done!!! Haha....

Couple more...

It's a 3 core opl all aluminum fully tig welded. I've used this model in two other builds and it works great. And the cost is great too!

thecrazygreek, it's inspiring after looking at your built. I've a '73 fj40, all stock with great body but unsure as what to do. frame off or partial or upgrade brake and some light performance. I'll keep lurking at your build to steal some idea.

Bumperettes and taillights thrown on for giggles ...

I'm thinking about body working the rear cross member. Making it glass smooth. Yay or nay?

That pitting is the first thing I saw when I looked at the pic. Knowing your bent for perfection I would say that you need to make that cross member as clean and smooth as it was when new.
