This doesn't account for Oil, filters and coolant. If I just was doing the Head gasket and didn't need to have the block machined my cost would be closer to 1500 (gaskets, hose kits, head machining ect)

So I promised myself I would take tons of photos during this rebuild. Well since it was just me and I got really focused I totally failed at that.

Here's what I got. Painted block, installed crank, new main bearings, new pistons, new rings, new rod bearings. Checked both for clearances and both were well within spec. Installed the oil pump gears, new timing chain, guides and cover.

Ok sorry for the delay. The engine is in and has about 1,000 miles on it, just did its first oil change last week.

My alternators voltage regulator was failing and kept the cruiser in limp mode, so the first couple drives were dissapointing. Once I got the alternator replaced with an OEM unit all was well.
A couple photos of it going in.

Then I got excited about having everything together and forgot to take any pictures. Mainly because I was too busy chasing down loose bolts and connection.

Anyway all is in and I also installed my underhood light.

Here are some photos of a trail run I ran with my club this summer. We did a multi night trip across Taylor and Pearl pass down near Crested Butte CO. The 200 blew away everyone's expectations and further solidified its awesomeness in my mind. It was pretty awesome to see what it's capable of in very nearly stock form.

I was a busy boy this last weekend. Couldn't have finished without the help from my wonderful girlfriend, she's a rock star.

Anyway, I started by resealing my windshield.

Then Caitie and I masked off the whole rig, laid out tons of plastic donned our onesie's and started lining.

Still need to do some touch up but overall very happy. I do have to say that the supplied rollers fall apart FAST which was a little frustrating.

So I am going to get some UV resistant paint color matched for touch ups over time, but I was also thinking about painting the snorkel to match... Thoughts?

No... Leave the snorkel black
