Hey DHwreckage:

If GPS agrees with speedometer, don't I necessarily have the right tire size entered?

How then can the odometer be off?

if your speedo is reading the same as your gps your mileage should be correct!

I blew up a v10 UHaul truck with 67,000 miles on it two months ago. I'm guessing it had been abused but I digress...

We're planning a 2500-mile Colorado, Montana and South Dakota road trip in late May and my mpg number is promising. Still debating taking the Mazda 3 which gets about 25 mpg. No back roads if we take it though.
:hmm:

2500 miles / 25 mpg in Mazda = 100 gallons. 2500 miles / 15 mpg in the 80 = 167 gallons.

167 gallons of gas @ $1.50/gallon = $250.

Back roads in the 80 = priceless.

No contest in my opinion. We did the same thing and took my wife's Passat on a trip to New Orleans instead of my Sequoia (before I had the 80) and I think we saved $18 in gas. And we had to stop when the tire sensor broke and said we had low pressure. And when the wiper flew off in central Mississippi in a downpour and try to find an auto parts store. And we had to ride with all the crap we bought piled to the ceiling on the way home. Definitely not worth it. Moral of story = take the Toyota.

I got gas today. 9.6 mpg mixed. :meh:
