I bought a old trailer made from a early Toyota pickup. The PO owner painted over the factory paint with house paint. From what I can tell the factory paint is still pretty good shape (72-75 olive green). Would like to remove the vinyl paint and have the original paint with it's a patina. I have a cheap pressure washer that would die long before I got the vinyl paint off not to mention the thousand of gallons of water needed.

Anyone know of a chemical that would soften the vinyl paint and not destroy the factory paint underneath? Just got to love PO.

Not sure what you could use but paint thinner is generally pretty safe for auto paint. Might soften up that vinyl so it peels off.
