The exterior trim around the side windows is kind of a strange design: it's a piece of chrome covered up by black rubber. Makes me wonder what the purpose of the chrome is. They just covered it up.
The black rubber on mine is broken out in intervals, letting the chrome show through, and it looks pretty shabby. It's just a cosmetic thing, but it's annoying me to look at it.
I was thinking of just removing the rubber and painting the chrome black, but suspect that would look a bit rough, too.
Are there any clever solutions out there, or should I just buy new trim?
