Brian,
Your dad just bought the stuff you're looking for (for you). I gave him (you) the rear reflectors. I have some rear tail lights, but sold the brackets a while ago. Let me know.

Sorry if I missed it as I just skimmed through the 5 pages, but do you still have the rear jump seat? How much to 92911 or 93953? Any pics, and does it have a seat belt? I need one for my '74.

Thanks,
Jon

Jon, I still have the seat but have yet to determine if it is a drivers or passenger side seat. The P.O. mounted it to a piece of angle iron and bolted it across the fenders so it faced forward. It has some original, I think, Toyota seat belts attached to it. I'll try to post some pics of it tomorrow. BTW, I'll be at my father-in-laws for Thanksgiving; he lives in Corral de Tierre (sp?) which is considered Salinas.

Thanks, Paul. I'd like to see the pictures. If all goes well, I'll be in San Diego picking up my 40 on Turkey Day! If we can figure out what it is, and I can find the opposite seat for my kid to ride in on the way home, maybe I can pick it up from your FIL after T-Day?

Paul, thanks for the pics! I'm trying to work some stuff out and figure if I want the jump seats or a forward facing fold and tumble. The 12 y/o will be riding back there, so I'm thinking forward facing might be better. I need to search the forum and see if there are any safety related posts on this issue.

Thanks again, and I'll let you know.

Jon, IMO I'd go with the forward-facing seat. I have one in my '72 and the kids love it. Safety wise, I know that you can't legally put a child seat or booster seat on the inward facing seats and I do recall reading about some other safety issues on this board. But then again, with the jump seats, you can fit 4 back there.

I guess I'm not a very good salesman!

Salesman? Nah, but that's why I like this board. Everyone seems to be out to actually help people...enough mushy shtuff...

Paul, after doing a bunch of reading last night, I think I'll go with a fold and tumble seat. I truly appreciate the advice!

Thanks,
Jon

EDIT: Paul, are you driving something to Salinas that you can carry that hardtop in? I'm also wondering if there are any differences in my '74 and the year of that hard top that would preclude me from getting it to work.

Jon,
The hard top is from a '75 or '76 as it had the ambi doors and the one piece windows on the side (no kick-out piece). I sold the ambi doors a while ago. I removed the fiberglass cap from the sides and cross-member that runs across the back. To make it work on the '70, I was going to have to drill some new holes on the tub for the lower hinges of the ambi doors, or get a cross member from a top with the hatch hinges and a hatch so I could use the lower barn doors. Confused yet?

As far as transporting, I have a shell on my Tacoma so I couldn't carry the cap, but I'm only about an hour and a half from your area.

Paul, can you PM me a phone number and a good time to call? I'd like to talk to you about this top.

I have a soft top going on it that I'll use for the drive from down south, but I think I may want a hard top as well.

Thanks,
Jon
