It's gonna get scratched, so

I have to get around to painting the FJ40 one of these days soon as part of its rebuild. I drive the Mojave Desert a lot and whatever you drive there is sooner or later going to run up against greasewood & the like and be scratched. It's unavoidable.
Some of the scratches can be rubbed out, the others I guess you live with. Is there a preference for the type of paint you use, single stage v. two stage, to stand up to the abuse and then dealing with it when it does happen?

if your going to be repairing it in the future. two stage is great. It is alot easier to fix and blend. I would also use alot of clear. that is the tough coat that does the protecting. what color by the way?

Haven't decided on a color, though I want something dark (I know, what could be worse for desert pinstriping?) because I have the Paki canvas top. For my, the contrast b/n the body & top looks better.
Thanks for the reply. Vic
