Camo paint
I've got a rusty FJ60 and don't want to spend the money replacing panels on a serious trail rig. But I also don't want the dingy, old silver. I would love to do a camo thing but have no idea how to start or if there is a sequence. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Rattle can it khaki or od green for a base coat, and then get a stencil and some other colors, and go to town.
Stix River sells some pretty stencils. I painted my jon boat in NatGear with it - not too hard to do, and it should look fine on a trail vehicle. I am contemplating doing my 80. ![]() Styx River | About Styx River before... after...

I am not looking for anything real nice. Just a good old camo paint job. Like the kind you see on military vehicles. I guess its just trial and error. If you mess up, then just rattle can over it. Right. Thanks for the help. I am going to try i this week end.

Fawking awesome! I came here to post this exact thing. My '85 Toy mini is tan or beige, so I've been thinking of going with a desert camo thing. Especially now that I've decided to build it.
POST PICS!!!!!! I'll be watching!

I f you want the wodland camo job that looks good the few that seen done right sarted out with painting the vehicle black.
Mask the brach shadows. Then paint the entire thing tan. Mask the blotch. Then mask the brown blotches. Finally paint the green. after the green dries pull all of the masking off. The result is fantastic. Sorry no pics. I hope this was not to vague. __________________ "The world is full of kings and queens who will blind your eyes and steal your dreams." (RJD) |

you could always jsut paint the base green and then hold a tree brach over the panel and use it as a stencil. ive seen that done.
