8500???
Hello All,
I just got an estimate from a guy to paint my landcruiser for 8500 . He is going to pull the body from the frame and sand blast both the frame and the body. The paint he will be using on the body will be the dupont chroma with a clearcoat and the frame will get some heavy duty marine rust inhibitor. I am also doing an engine swap so thats why the time to pul the body is now. What do you guys think? I have no experience with car painting but others have said for what hes doing this seems right....? Would I be crazy to do this? Any and all thoughts are much appreciated!cheers ![]() caleb |

For anything that will ever be driven in the woods even once....that's insane. For a garage decoration or trailer queen, it's steep but not completely crazy.
You know once he sandblasts it there will be other body problems revealed and your $8500 will go up. Way up. Be ready for that one. __________________ John 1983 VJ47 Crew Cab "The Great Pumpkin" 1992 M-101 Tons of 40 parts for sale <---Link Finally I can get what I've always wanted....a used Toyota. |

For an old Classic show car that sounds like a fair deal.
For an old landcruiser that isn't going for any awards...hmmmmm I think there are other alternatives. But money is all relative. If you have lots of it why not throw it away at something you love. As much as these things get abused a few of them deserve the royal treatment. __________________ 1956 F-100 1968 Power Wagon 1972 FJ40 1992 4-Runner 1997 F-250 PSD 2006 VW Jetta TDI |
