Kirker Automotive Paint - Quality?
I went to FinishMaster yesterday to see about pricing on the PPG product line.
For a gallon of DP50LF epoxy primer, gallon of K36 high build primer, gallon of DBC color and a gallon of DCU2021 clear and all associated reducers and hardeners would run $1200+ after taxes !I don't think that is the route I want to take for cost reasons. I did some research and saw a lot of people using the Kirker brands of paint with really good luck. You can get epoxy primers, high build primers and urethane colors from them. For about $350 I can get the same from Kirker as I was getting from PPG. Anyone have anything good or bad to say? __________________ 83 FJ60, major project in progress Check out status of the build: http://forum.ih8mud.com/60-series-wagons/128847-83-fj60-build-up-thread.html |

That's certainly plenty high! No reason to need a gallon of DP50, since it's a non sanding primer/finisher. I only use it as a seal coat before paint. Even to one shot the truck overall should only take a quart.

I will be using the DP50 as a coat over bare steel on the entire 60... inside and out. I will most likely use the whole gallon (and then some maybe).
