I like the color.

What is it going to look like when you get outside? Greenish or more blueish?

What type of paint did you spray it with?

Looks good man. Too late now, but next time you might want to use real masking paper from a paint store or home depot. When sprayed with solvents, newspaper prduces lint, that's gonna be the trash in your paint. Looks good!

Man the things I've learned in the last two days. Started on the doors and had some major paint shrinkage! Turns out the tack cloth wasn't quite enough to clean the surface contamination. So after liberal quantities of laquer thinner it was good to go.

Was going to go full dissassembly but this is more of an interem paint job (5 or 6 years). After that it will be a frame off. Never worked with an HVLP gun... That thing is the ****! Make anyone look 10X better than they are at painting.

Thanks for the comments.

Beautiful job!

I wonder what that would look like on a fj55, with a little white in between?

i'm going to try it just cause it would be good practice on a rig you really don't care too much how the paint looks. just need some decent weather...

Pablo - used about 3 qt. of paint for outside tub, dash, and inside out on the hardtop. Just finished the steelies (thanks jr4asu). Doesn't make my 31's look so small.

Now that's what I'm talking about! Love the stock wheels. Great color.
I'm definitely going this route when I paint the pig.

This was single stage code 622, right?

Looks great!

Was the Nebula originally delivered with the black bezel and top, or would white be more correct for those?

Been kind of kicking the idea of Nebula around for my HJ-45, but I really like the white top/bezel.... And I really like the idea of staying with a Toyota paint scheme, even if not correct for the year/model. (maybe)

Dan

Yes - Cygnus White I beleive for top and bezel.

So here is my explanation : PO of my hardtop covered the top with what could best be descriped as drywall texture ( the rough ceiling kind ). So instead of taking that stuff all the way down and discovering what he was trying to hide... I sanded most of it off an painted it black to hide what I left. Then thought I would paint the bezel to match. I like it for now, later I may bring it back to factory.
